Sand Point, ID

Feb 24 at approximately 9:20 pm, my wife and I were walking to the house from an out building. I noticed a red/orange light on the southwest horizon. I thought it could be Mars (not knowing its position this time of year). It was slightly larger than I remember though. I looked at it again, it was steadily moving in a North East direction. I thought aircraft. When we reached the front of the house, I looked again realizing an aircraft should have a blinking light, I thought perhaps something in orbit. At that point I stood and watched, it traveled around 45 degrees from when I first noticed it and started to fade in the clouds. About the same time it came to an abrupt stop, dropped a smaller red/orange object that left a small trail, then both completely disappeared. I have never seen anything in the night sky do anything similar to what I witnessed, so I watched the news cycle and Internet for more information and found nothing.

Long Beach, CA

At approximately 18:38 on February 24, 2018, while walking to my apartment, I happened to be looking up at the stars which were nice and bright (for urban Long Beach, anyway) . My attention was drawn to the west by a steady orange light in the sky. It caught my attention because of its orange color and lack of any apparent strobe or beacon that normally would be seen on an aircraft. I caught a brief glance of it as I was walking and then a tree came between me and the light so that I temporarily lost sight of it. When I cleared the tree a second or two later, I noticed that the light was either climbing in altitude, or coming towards me (or both), and that it was a steady orange glow, almost like a landing light on an aircraft but way more orange. I was kind of fixated on this light, expecting at anytime to see a beacon or navigation lights which would have given it away as an aircraft when it started to fade and then disappeared completely. Not behind a clou! d or anything, but just faded out within the span of about a second or two at most. There might have been a second light behind (closer to the horizon) the first light, but, as I stated, I was transfixed on the brightest light, and only noticed a second light that disappeared along with the first light at the same time. That second light might have been an aircraft, as LAX outbound traffic is frequently in that vicinity of the sky, but I can’t be certain as I was only half aware of that light. Anyway, as I was contemplating what I had just witnessed (I was stopped a few doors down from my apartment at this point, staring up at the sky), an object came “tumbling” by at, what seemed to me, just above treetop-level! It was moving in an easterly direction and, for lack of a better word, tumbling. It remind me of a semi-translucent, roughly spherical object with a very dim, orangey glow. There seemed to be a darker patch on the object that rotated with it’s apparent tumble, this is how I could see it’s rotation. It moved at a steady, quick pace; I’m bad at estimating speed, but I’d say maybe between 20 to 35 mph. It made no noise and was visible to me for approximately 5 to 8 seconds, I’d say. It moved eastward and looked to be descending as it crossed my field of view, but I could be wrong. It had a steady glow, no flickering like a candle or anything. I thought initially that maybe it was a bag with a candle or something in it, but I’ve seen flying lanterns before, and this didn’t look or move like the lanterns I’ve seen in the past. It had been a windy day in Long Beach, but when I saw this object, there was no wind that I could detect. One other thing--as I was driving home about 10 to 15 minutes before my initial sighting of the original light, I had noticed a couple looking up at the sky rather intently on the sidewalk of the street I was driving down. Now I wish I had stopped and asked them what they were looking at. Maybe it was related to what i saw…

Charleston, TN

At 8:00pm Eastern time on 2/23/2018, my husband and I were driving in southeastern Tennessee, north of Cleveland, TN, and approaching Charleston, TN, on Hwy 11, about 2 blocks north of the intersection of Hwy 11 and County Road 308 on the outskirts of Charleston, TN. We saw 2 orange glowing basketball sized objects rising at a 45 degree angle toward the north and then leveling off and traveling northward. I pulled into the local grocery store parking lot to get a better view and pulled out my cell phone to take a video. We spotted a 3rd and then a 4th object and could see these were flickering lights. I drove the immediate area and spotted a family launching Chinese lanterns from their backyard so the experience was explained. We watched two more lanterns rise, taking the same path up and northward as the previous ones. All spheres were a flickering orange color while below 250 feet elevation but changed to white as traveled further away. I was amazed that these lanterns followed the same path of flight and even wondered if they were powered by drones, but my husband felt they were getting too far out of range from the family for this to be. We never saw any descend, they just kept going northward and faded from sight. Anyone traveling on I-75 around mile marker 35 (where I-75 crosses the Hiwassee River) could have viewed these east of I-75 as unexplained glowing objects in the sky, so I thought I would report my findings and give you an explanation of the event.

Plant City, FL

A light was glowing in the field in front of his house out in the country. He went to it and picked it up and it was a clear plastic like object about the size of a marble, with bright light emitting from what looked to be the top. It was in a white paper bag about 2in. X 2in., like a coffee filter type material. We cut the bag and dumped it on his kitchen counter and the light dimmed and went out very quickly. What to do with it we don't know. Right now its in his flower pot outside. I have snap shots and videos of it. I don't believe its what you would call a U.F.O., but would like help to find out what it is. Thanks. Surprise, AZ

On Feb. 20, 2018, at approximately 11:27 am, we looked up and saw about 15 to 20 objects in the sky. The first sighting appeared to be a line shape, such as a bird formation, then it turned into a spherical type of shape. Objects hovered and danced around each other within that shape for about 6 minutes. They were reflecting the sun light as if they were made of metal or glass. At 11:33 we then went from the backyard to the front yard to observe the objects. It took us about 10 seconds to be out front. When we got there the objects were nowhere to be seen. We stayed out front and kept looking for about 5 minutes. Then at 11:38, they appeared again father north of the first sighting. It appeared that they were going in and out of sight. They were very bright then disappeared. This second sighting lasted about 1 minute and 20 seconds. During this sighting the surrounding areas were extremely quiet, no bird sounds, no plane noise, no nothing. We do live about 10 to 15 minutes from an air force base. Over the city, red lights in a round formation, stayed in one place. I thought it was fireworks, at first, but to high, lights blinked several times, turned into white orb then back to red separate lights round again. Went to get husband and then it turned into blinking object red, white lights (not round anymore sort of lights side by side) going very fast from east to west over the mountain range. It looked like individual lights that made a perfect circle not moving at first - wow!

Jacksonville, FL

It was around 8:30 last night in Jacksonville and a clear night. From my balcony at Eastport apartments which is within 5 miles of the airport. My girlfriend and I were smoking a cigarette, when I saw a light with rotating light switching from left to right to right to left, and then up and a rotating light. Also, the object changed direction rapidly. We sit out here every night and I grew up by the airport. So, I know a airplane when I see the lights at night. The direction of the light/or lights was moving north. Paralleling the airport and the object, I can’t seem to change direction rapidly up-and-down and zigzag pattern and I would estimate that this is between my porch and the light had to of been 10 miles, if not more. The lights were steady and change direction and every once in a while call us with flash as well as anyone else Sean this before?

I was driving and I thought it was only a light reflection and then the light started to move east but it looked nothing like an airplane and was way to low in the sky to be a shooting star. The light was about 3,000 maybe 4,000 feet in the air I estimate. One of the light disappeared and then one kept going for a while and then disappeared.

The orb was about 5 foot elevation, was beige in color, size about that of a softball, made no sound, moved in a straight line in front of me about 30 feet, made a 90 degree turn toward me to my left and disappeared thru my wall, however I did not see it exit thru the wall because it was to fast for me to see it happen. It left a momentary trail as it moved, the trail appeared as an arc from point to point, trail only lasted for moments, but was noticeable. The orb was not bright or cast light or shadow, the surface was not such that you could describe it other than color. The orb was such that I could tell what it may be made of or how it phased thru my wall or how it entered my residence. My family room is about 15 by 30 feet, I was seated middle of room against the wall facing my TV in center of room, TV was not on as I had just entered room and sat down when the orb entered room. It did not scare me nor did I feel threatened in any way. I remember saying to myself, what the hell was that. The other thing that happened was I experienced nerve damage on my left side, however I cannot say the orb caused it. And I only recently thought that the nerve damage could have been caused by this experience, it just never occurred to me.

Bright start looking object came from the N-W, first thought to be an air plane. Too bright for an airplane. Looked like the star with only white light. Did not blink or showed different colors. Did not change the speed. No noise. Simply going towards S-E in a straight line. First thought to be a satellite. Too bright for a satellite. Videotaped on a cellphone. Video shows the shimmer which was not seen by the naked eye. Frozen frames show spinning orb with flames spiraling around. Watched it until it went out of the view on the S-E horizon.

Big Sky, MT

I just finished working in Moonlight Basinski Resort cleaning a home for my business. I was headed to the trash area finishing up my work for the day and noticed a white orb shaped object up in the sky. It was moving in an upward motion at a high rate of speed. I watched it for about 45 seconds before I grabbed my phone and began recording. I recorded for about 15 seconds before the object disappeared. On top of this there seemed to be a satellite moving in a different direction that I could not see with my eyes but my phone picked up the object on my camera. This may have been unrelated but it should be noted since it is also included in the video.

Fredericton (Canada), NB · Canada

On the evening of February 12th, 2018, I was driving back from my fathers house to my mothers house, a drive I’ve done routinely my entire life. Once I pulled into the subdivision where my mother lives, I notice two sets of two lights on the horizon, one set higher than the other. Behind my mothers subdivision is nothing but forest, and I have never noticed towers in that direction. The lights were large, with a golden orange appearance, seemingly looking like two sets of vehicle headlights floating over the tree line. My mothers subdivision is small, and as I drove down the hill towards the lights they disappeared over the crest of the hill. I turned the corner and up another hill to get another vantage point where I could see the lights once again, making sure not to mistake them with street lights. I knew the lights were something in the distance, not something within the subdivision itself. I made my way back to the highest crest of the hill where the su! bdivision starts, and from what I saw, the separation between lights had grown, or moved. I studied them with binoculars for 5 minutes before pulling into my driveway for the night. From my driveway, I could still see the highest sets of lights still hanging low on the horizon. I tried to forget about them, told myself they were just towers I had been missing. 2 hours later I went for a cigarette in my driveway and there were no lights visible, and since then I have yet to see them again. At the far back of my mothers subdivision are two woods paths, both of which I hiked up close to a kilometer in. We had rain two days prior, with temperatures dropping to -20 at night. Both trails were untouched with a thick layer of ice covering the snow, meaning no one had been back there for at least a few weeks. I checked all recent google imagery maps, GeoNB and aerial photography of the area and there is nothing back there, no towers at all. Regards

There where two orb's flying in unison. They where faint yellow, white. Flying east to west. One moving around in front heading east than moving around back to north side of other repeating. It is fairly cloudy with clearing east and above me. Orbs were extremely high up but larger than plane lights.

Staffelfelden, Alsace · France

[GEIPAN classification B — Bolide]

I was outside letting my dogs out one at a time, the first dog took about 5 minutes to do her business. Let the next dog out returning the first inside the house. I stepped off the porch and instantly noticed 10 or more red spherical lights in a strange formation, almost as if in a constellation. I quickly went back to the door and asked my sister-in-law to come look at the sky, she too see's the many red lights, we watch for possibly three minutes total. The lights blight ever so slightly and one by one fade away. I cannot get a shot on the camera, the street light in front of me drowning out the lights in the background. As quickly as they came, only one left from the bottom of the formation blinks behind then it too is gone.

I saw two round spheres at 21:01 PM on 02/09/2018 flying in the sky with no sound and lower than the planes, following each other in a straight line, heading North over Cape Coral, FL. Through binoculars it looked like many orange tinted lights in a ball. Similar to Christmas lights. Without binoculars it looked like balls of fire. They were moving kinda slow, is why I noticed them from my porch.

My mother and I went to take out the dogs and witnessed one UFO in front of our home. We wouldnt have noticed it we weren't playing with a new flighttracker24 app. We live near ontario airport and chino airport, so we were pointing it at the flight path to see where the planes were going.

I then looked in the NE horizon of the sky and saw a bright white light over our neighbors house. My mother said that's not a plane. She was right. It wasn't a plane. We watched for a few seconds as it slowed down, dimmed, then vanished.

After we went back to our pool area and looked up to see if there was anything else in the sky. That's when my mother and I witnessed 4-5 more of those UFOs appear, disappear, then appear in another part of the sky, dim, vanish, and dance around, but the UFOs weren't the weirdest part of this story.

The helicopter immediately following the UFOs was the weirdest part. A low flying helicopter came out of nowhere and whizzed by in the direction of our sightings. It was so low and so close, my mom said "put the tracker on that'. She wanted to know if it was a police helicopter. The helicopter didn't register on the radar at all! This thing catches planes miles and miles away. It was right above us flying low. Sometimes the tracker won't tell us about a private aircraft or helicopter, but it ALWAYS shows up on the radar as private or N/A. This did NOT registering. Strange.

Around midnight, my 2 children were walking from Frys on Alma School and Main Street. On the way home, the saw three very bright orange orbs lined up side by side perfectly. They were slowly moving together going East, without making a sound. After 4 minutes, one orb flew away from the formation going Southeast. Eventually the other two lights just vanished. We took a photo and a video as fast as we could.

They floated from north to the south slow for almost 10 minutes (I say float because of how slowly they moved). They started in the both just floating straight up, then turned south. They flew with the two in front horizontally, and the two in back followed vertically.

Me and another federal police officer starting our shift noticed a bright white sphere shaped object moving slowly in a southwestern track. The object first looked like perhaps a satellite, yet all around the object was cloudy surrounded by what appeared to be mist, however there were no clouds in the night sky. We could not conclude what it was. We did not get a picture but it was slow enough to watch for about 4 to 5 minutes.

Garden Grove, CA

6 February 2018 starting at approximately 6:25 ending 6:33 PM PST Garden Grove, CA., Approx. 33.796N, 117.963W At approximately 18:30 PM PST, I was in the front yard of my parents' house in Garden Grove, CA. It was an hour after sunset (17:28 PM) so the sky was dark. There is a street light directly across the street plus an outside light that was on and the lights from inside. From this position, close to the house and with those lights it was difficult to see any other objects in the sky or immediately determine the visibility conditions. I happened to look up over the roof of the house towards the south-southwest and I noticed a light which was brighter in the center and spread out to the sides. It looked similar to moonlight shining through clouds. My best guess at its exact initial azimuth position would be about 195-205 degrees and about 40-45 degrees above the horizon. I didn't think it unusual at first and pay much attention to it since I wanted to finish working as quickly as possible. A few minutes later I noticed that it was still in the same location. Still I didn't think it unusual and without thinking it through assumed it to be the crescent moon or the planet Venus behind some haze or a thin layer of clouds. Those are the only two objects that could be bright enough to shine through haze or light clouds anywhere near that part of the sky. After a few more minutes of it being there I wanted a better look. I walked around to the west side of the house. The light was still in about the same part of the sky. This is when it really grabbed my attention since I better seeing conditions in a darker area.I was facing directly south and realized that it wasn't the Moon behind a cloud or haze. It wasn't Venus either which is never in that part of the night sky. I'm a long time amateur astronomer (40 years) and know my way around the night sky well. At times, Venus can be over 40 degrees above the horizon after sunset. But it is never in that part of the sky where this light was. The Moon is excluded also. It was a week past full moon and now in the waning phase. Moonrise didn't occur until 00:09 the next day. So what was it? On my phone, I pulled up heavens-above.com sky chart for the current sky to see if somehow I had forgotten a bright star in that area. This took a total of about 2 minutes. That part of the sky, contains the constellation Eridanus which has no bright stars. When I looked up again, the light had moved towards the south and was continuing to do so. It was now about 20 degrees to the right of Rigel, (0.18 mag.) the brightest star in Orion, and about its same distance above the horizon. At that time Rigel was 42 degrees above the horizon. The light was now clearly moving but not what I would have called rapidly. It had a white veil or a mist trailing it that covered 2-3 degrees. It looked very much like what some call an orb and the veil trailing it much like that of a rocket's exhaust backlit by the sun as it ignites the 2nd stage. I knocked on the glass door but didn't see my parents. I walked away from the back of the house into the backyard for a better look. It was dark enough there to see other stars and only then was I able to see that the sky was clear with excellent visibility. The wind was calm. The light continued moving slowly in SSE direction with the white veil trailing it at about the speed of a commercial jet nearing cruising altitude. I know that the size, altitude and speed of an object are difficult to determine against an open sky with no objects for comparison. I won't attempt to do that here. I recorded some video with my phone but by then it was too dim to show up.
