July 4, 2014 · 9:40 PM · FIREBALL

Latrobe, PA

An orange type fireball craft was moving slowly across the city from one end of the sky to the other. It was growing brighter and dimmer as it went. It eventually appeared to move up through the clouds to my left. I suppose it could have been a Chinese lantern, but hearing so much about these orange craft on Coast, I decided to report it.

July 4, 2014 · 9:30 PM · FIREBALL

Bluffton, SC

While in the driveway watching fireworks we observed 2 bright lights hovering high above the tree line. They remained stationary and bright for a few minutes then seemed to go higher and disappear. We then saw 5 just like that appear and remain in place for about 5 or 6 minutes and then as with the first two we saw disappeared one at a time. Our neighbor told us the next day he also observed the same. This is the second time we have seen these lights like this.

July 4, 2014 · 9:30 PM · FIREBALL

Wilmington, NC

I observed a cluster of approxmitely 5 to 6 orange fireballs flying to the east and heading northeast appearing to parallel the coast. They were far enough away that they would have been over the ocean from this direction. This occurred at approxmitely 9:30 PM. This was the 4th of July and there were fireworks in the area; however, these were extrodinarly high. It would have been higher than most airliners fly. I live very close to the northeast corridor that the airlines and military use frequently. I am very familar with sky watching and frequently use a telescope. These fireballs moved much faster than any known man-made aircraft, but slower than a metoer. They disappeared after about 20 to 30 seconds and were totally different from anything I have ever observed. These were not fireworks or meteors. These were the fireballs that everyone seems to be seeing along the east coast.

July 4, 2014 · 9:00 PM · FIREBALL

Owensboro, KY

July 4, 2014. While watching fireworks, at approximately 9:00PM, my friend and I noticed a bright orangish, reddish, yellowish object moving in a strange pattern across the sky, looked like a fireball. It started at what seemed a fairly low altitude and then ascended toward the moon, disappearing just beyond the moon. We then saw another, come in from a different direction, but looked and acted similarly to the first, then another, again looked and acted similarly to the other two. This lasted approximately 5-10 min. We then saw one much lower than any of the previous three had been, appeared to be barely above the street lights. It was coming from the south, moving north. It seemed to be coming directly toward us, then arced up toward the moon and disappeared before getting as high the moon. We saw approximately 10-12 of these follow the exact same path. Probably 30-45 seconds apart. Other people appeared to be viewing them as well. My friend tried to take pictures with phone, but they did not show anything that was discernible other than the moon in one of the pictures. We did not talk to any of the other people. None of the objects blinked or made any sounds. They weren’t fireworks. They did not look like any aircrafts I have ever seen flying before except the ones we also saw the previous night in a different part of town. Neither my friend nor I have seen any since. Las Vegas, NV

I was at a park before the rain started, when something caught my eye. in the sky there was what looked like a orange trash bag that was on fire. but i was floating. At first I thought it was just a firework, but it didn't explode. It started to move to the side. no firework can do that. Then a couple minutes later it disappeared into the sky. Right after another one appeared and did the same then another one, and another. As soon as the last one disappeared it started to rain, it still hasn't stopped raining. Please help me now what this is..i wanna know that i am not crazy.

A orange round fireball high in the sky went across the sky, it stopped at one point but the continues traveling and the 2nd one o was looking up anticipating the fireworks when the orange ball lit up as it was high in the sky that's when I began recording it .... Incidentally, last year on the fourth of July we saw the same exact orange ball in the exact same position and travel in the same path I was also sitting in the same position of the driveway last year I didn't get it on cam but this time I got both of them on cam also we saw it at the same time as last year. ... It was seen all over Orange County last year and was reported in the media. Witness indicates that the date is approximate. PD

July 3, 2014 · 9:15 PM · FIREBALL

Columbus, OH

We saw six lights appear about two miles west of our house. They were too bright and lasted too long to be fireworks. My boyfriend had time to see them and run inside to grab his phone and see the rest of the descent. Some went out and relit. They fell in a zig zag pattern one behind the other equidistant from each other rather slow going north then west like a z. They were bright orange. Too low and slow to be jets or planes. Completely baffled a UFO is the only explanation. They vanished still descending into the tree line.

Columbus, OH

I was driving my family from Seymour Indiana to New Hampshire on vacation which requured is to go through columbus Ohio. I was driving north on I-71 north just south of the city looking for my next turn to continue on 71n when I noticed a bright object to my left, NW about 11 in the sky at a high but undetermined altitude. I thought it was a meteor or comet because of the intensity of the light and it appeared to have a tail behind the head. I yelled to my family to see it and they did. I yelled for them to video it which two of them did. Instead of one object it suddenly broke into three pieces and continued falling and then they disappeared for a brief moment and the sky went dark and then suddenly 6 light appeared with odd shapes like a triangle and I thought it might be a parachute drill team, but they started moving around in an irregular pattern which made me think debris again until they came together in a line and came down together until they all went dark at the same time and did not twinkle or go out like a flare, or one at a time. They all suddenly vanished at the same time. We have video and cannot find out anything on this via news or reports which makes me wonder what we witnessed. I would like help in knowing and where to have the video reviewed

Owensboro, KY

July 3, 2014. Driving down bypass Owensboro, KY, I spotted 4 reddish, orange objects; sort of stacked upon one another. They appeared motionless. Pointed it out to the driver, but he didn’t really pay attention as he was driving. Less than 5 minutes later we had reached our destination. I spotted another of these objects. This time the driver saw it, too. He said it was probably a tower. I told him it wasn't a tower. It wasn't blinking and it was orange, not red.He looked around at some other towers and agreed what we were seeing was NOT a tower. It finally just disappeared. Other people seemed to be watching it, too. Later from inside of our destination, we could see more of these objects. They appeared further away than the one we had seen when we went in. They were moving from the NE to the SW. There were fireworks that night, but these were not fireworks nor were they Chinese lanterns. I have hesitated all these months reporting this as I’m sure people would think we were crazy. But we both saw them. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Sault Ste. Marie (Canada), ON · Canada

On Tuesday, July 1st, at approx. 10:30pm, whilst over-nighting in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, on a road trip from Minnesota to Montreal, my two teenage children and I were watching the local fireworks over the river separating the USA and Canada. It was raining on and off with overcast skies. During the fireworks, I looked off to the SW and noticed and orange light approaching. As this got closer and easier to see, it appeared to be an orange/red fireball. It was moving from SW to NE at what I’d describe as the speed of a light plane. There was no noise and the object did not change shape and finally disappeared out of sight. I’d estimate the height between 1700 to 2500 feet. Whilst I was watching this, I told my kids to look in the direction I was as they were watching the fireworks and hadn’t noticed it yet. I asked them, “What do you think that is”? They both looked, turned to me with wide eyes, and both said, that’s the same thing we saw at home in August. I posted a similar sighting on 8-26-13 of four of these things in Minnesota. The first sighting still has me baffled and now I’m really intrigued. These aren’t planes or lanterns. After my first sighting I contacted the National Weather Service for wind directions which ruled out balloons etc. I did get a couple of photos of the first sighting but not this one.

Bright white fireball moving from North to South. The fireball dimmed to almost gone then came back bright and split into 2 pieces. It seemed to be on our side of the clouds. I looked up and saw it and told my wife. She had time to turn around and watch it also.
