July 11, 2014 · 10:02 PM · FIREBALL

Mount Airy, MD

Orange fire ball, some red twinkling, SE to NW, one came and then a minute later, a second one appeared following exact same path. Disappeared into distance, completely silent. Estimate 5000 ft. altitude. Maintained level altitude, and each followed exact same path. Moved fast.

July 11, 2014 · 10:00 PM · FIREBALL

Cape Coral, FL

Three orange balls moving from north to south moving very quickly. At one point the first hovered in the same spot for approximately 30 seconds before moving again. This was followed by at least two others that followed the same path.

July 11, 2014 · 10:00 PM · FIREBALL

Leesburg, GA

Orange fireball moved upward and across sky then fizzled and went out in heavy clouds. No sound was observed, was definitely NOT an airplane or helicopter

July 11, 2014 · 12:45 AM · FIREBALL

Roscommon, MI

I was camping at South Higgins Lake State Park with my family. Around 12:45am I noticed a bright orange light over the water that wasn’t there a moment ago. I went to the beach to go look at it with my Mom. When we got to the beach, we could see that the object was hovering in the air above the tree line. It appeared to be the same size and similar shape to a hot air ballon. The light was so bright and high in the sky that it had a reflection on the water. As we watched it, a second one appeared. They would hover, then combine into one glowing object, and then one would reappear again next to it. As we were watching, two other campers joined to stare at the orange fire balls. I did not know these campers. We stood there in awe for about 10 minutes as we watched these two balls of light fade in and re appear in the sky. Then the two lights sunk below the tree line and left a orange glow for about 30 seconds till the lights faded out. There is a military base near by, and there were about 5 to 8 boats on the water that night at 1am. Those boats were still on the water at 2am, when I finally decided to go to bed.

July 10, 2014 · 10:23 PM · FIREBALL

Three Points, AZ

We were sitting in the backyard talking to a friend. We looked to the west and three fireballs lit up the sky. Watched for about ten minutes and they kept lighting up.

July 10, 2014 · 10:00 PM · FIREBALL

Wilmington, DE

The first ball came from a southwest direction was moving slightly slower than a plane, which was very bright at first, similar to a ball of fire. What was most notable was that there was “drippings” or embers of fire or what have you from the bottom of the object. The object then slowed down considerably and continued on its northerly path with the fireball decreasing in size until it completely dissipated. The second object moved in a relatively similar direction but instead of continuing the same directional course as the first fireball, the second moved upwards in the sky until it slowed to a halt and dissipated. It should be noted, that there was no noise, smoke, or trails associated with these objects. To the best of the observers knowledge fireworks were not at play nor could the objects be attributed to flares.

Rothesay (Canada), NB · Canada

The first object was of a giant fireball-like object moving across the sky at a speed similar to the speed of the space station. It was not a meteorite because it was way too large, didn't have a tail and didn't burn out. It was not a plane because it didn't not have blinking lights and there was a plane flying overhead shortly afterwards. It made a sound like a low thrum. It made the dogs nervous and they started growling. The second one came, heading in a different direction, less than a minute after the first one disappeared over the horizon. It flew overhead and then disappeared, but we could still see the shape blocking out the light of the stars overhead as it moved across the sky. It was not quite shimmery, but kind of like it looked reflective or see through. It made the same sound until it went "see through". Then it was silent. Very strange! We tried to film it. It should have shown on the video as it was so large, but we have no video footage, even though our voices were heard. The sound did get picked up, however. We would like to know if any satellite or space debris has been reported breaking up in the atmosphere. We've never seen anything like it and we love to star gaze on clear nights.

July 10, 2014 · 9:40 PM · FIREBALL

Tulsa, OK

Slow moving fireball crossed the sky. Was about 6-7 miles South of a storm cell. Saw lightning in the area afterwards. Video is here. http://youtu.be/9ojcIoaHq78 http://youtu.be/Ssxv1F0a4qE

July 10, 2014 · 9:15 PM · FIREBALL

Andalusia, AL

On july 10, 2014, me and my son witnessed a ufo for about a minute and a half. When I first saw it, I was leaving my truck going to the house. It was a large flame looking orange in color. Hold a lighter out as far as you can but perfectly round. Zero noise though. Very bright in the night sky and was basically on the horizon. It covered half the sky in about a minute and seemed as though it was reaching orbit. I have witnessed many sattallites and this was not one. My only explanation would be a rocket reaching orbit but there was no sound what so ever. If anyone else saw or has an explanation I would love to hear it.

July 10, 2014 · 9:00 PM · FIREBALL

Cromwell, CT

Approximately at 9PM EST, I looked out the window and saw to large fireballs in the southeast sky. The sighting only lasted about 10 seconds. They both faded out. I wasn't able to judge the two fireballs altitude but distance from us was plus or minus two miles. This is my fourth sighting since 2008 and the 3rd time I've seen fireballs within two years. I used the Skyview Free app to get an idea of location in the sky. It was just left of Sagittarius. Whatever these are it is amazing every time. My wife also witnessed this event in addition to the others. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

July 10, 2014 · 12:01 AM · FIREBALL

South Seattle, WA

It was midnight or just after. I was outside with my 2 dogs doing potty break. We live within earshot of Sea-Tac Intl. airport; about 5 miles ENE. An aircraft was departing and the engine noise was what I thought to be a bit louder than normal. In hindsight, it was throttle-up at the beginning of his roll for a northerly departure. In looking up, an occulting light caught my eye. It was a bit whiter than a high pressure sodium street light an seemed to flash on and off about ever 1.5 seconds for an on an off cycle. The "on" cycle was about twice as long as the off. When I first looked up I was facing nearly due west. If you make west 12 o'clock, I first noticed what I believe a fireball, about a point (the width of a closed fist across the knuckles) above and west of the 3/4 waxing moon. The object was traveling roughly the same path the moon will follow as it drops towards the western horizon. The object was not streaking like a shooting star and there as no tail. It was moving slow enough that when it passed behind the neighboring house to the south of mine I was able to take 3.steps to my right to see more of the trajectory as it cleared the neighbors. The flashing was not strobe like but more akin to a flashing red street light. I did wonder if it might be an aircraft plunging out of the ! sky because the departing jet from Sea-Tac had not cleared the tree line yet and was still significant just after the object dropped out of sight the aircraft emerged climbing out to the north. I did do a little hunker down waiting for some results but nothing occurred. I stayed out for a few more minutes observing the general area of the sky this all happened in.

July 9, 2014 · 10:17 PM · FIREBALL

Winooski, VT

Object looked like a giant fireball. Just appeared at random in the sky at 10:17pm 7/9/2014 over Winooski, VT. 1 object, No noise coming from flying object. Looked exactly like an orange fireball about 1/4 the size of the almost full moon. Watched it move very quickly directly across the sky (never went up or down, just across). It lasted 2-3 minutes and then just disappeared. 2 people saw this. Appeared out of nowhere and disappeared the same way. It was low to the ground, not as high in the sky as an airplane or jet and had NO noise at all. Not even a little bit. I'm scared to death! I never believed in aliens before but now I'm wondering..I already know we sound crazy! I just hope more people report this sighting.

They were too bright to be meteorites and were flying in a triangular formation that was too perfect to appear natural. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

July 7, 2014 · 10:40 PM · FIREBALL

Salt Lake City, UT

It was about 10:40pm on Sunday 7/6/14. It was moving slowly like a plane that was leaving the Salt Lake airport and heading south. It also looked like it might be heading east (towards me) as well. It appeared to be moving, but very slowly. It was very steady as well. Much like a plane. It was orange and it flickered. It would alternately look larger and smaller as the orange glow flickered and it looked just like a fire. It continued to move slowly and flicker for well over a minute, maybe two minutes. I watched it for a while and even tried to take pictures and video the resolution is poor on my phone’s camera. Then, after a while, it just winked “out” (quick but not instantly) and then I could barely see it. It now looked like a tiny white dot like a plane that’s very far away. The white dot could possibly be a star directly behind where the orange object had been, but it looked like a plane in the distance.

Appeared to be about the size of a pea at first, and quickly got smaller eventually disappearing.

July 6, 2014 · 10:00 PM · FIREBALL

Bainbrodge, OH

The fireworks at our local school had just finished so everyone was still looking in the direction they were being blown off. Suddenly a fireball erupted out of no where and it seemed to glow entensely. It seemed to ignite then take off towards the west in an exactly straight line that also was very bright. It was traveling extremely fast, too fast to be a plane or helecopter. It just vanished into thin air after that. The fire works were not being shot off and it was very clear and still. 6 of us all saw the same thing and had explaination for what we saw. July 6, 2014 · 9:15 PM · FIREBALL

York, PA

While skying watching from our deck, spotted a bright orange object on a northern trajectory from the south. The rate of speed seemed to be much slower then any meteor that I've seen in the past. As I pointed the first object out to my son and as the first object seemed to fade behind clouds to the north the second object appeared to the south. My son stepped into the house to tell my wife what we were seeing and as he did a third object appeared. As he returned to the deck the fouth appeared and we proceeded to watch a fifth and six object arrive. All six objects appeared to be on an identical trajectory. They all seemed to slow at a point when we were looking at them towards the east. Having been in the Navy they had more of an appearance of missles inflight. No noise, no vapor trails. One did appear to eject a lighted objected at the end of it's run and another appear to be somewhat elongated with lights down the side. From time spotted in the southern sky to their burn out or disappearnce to the north took about two minutes each. I have seen objects from my deck for the past several years and one similiar sighting just about four or five days before this one. This one appeared to come from the east. We have continuous air traffic over our house and I these objects were not planes. Very, very curious and hoping for some kind of explanation.

July 6, 2014 · 8:45 PM · FIREBALL

Calera, AL

Was outside when over the horizon appeared an orange glowing object that looked to be on fire. Moved incredibly fast over the sky. It looked triangular in shape at first. Made absolutely no sound. Looked to be climbing higher and higher before flickering out in the sky. Called my wife out to see. After some research, I don't think this is a chinese sky lantern, which was my first thought. The speed of the object was incredible. Eerily consistent with the recent reports on your website. I have no experience in aircraft or any military experience but I have traveled tens of thousands of miles across the country and have not seen anything remotely like this. After doing some quick research it seems a lot of these reports come around July 4th. Not just this year, but in every year before this. Again, very strange!

July 5, 2014 · 11:00 PM · FIREBALL

Corpus Christi, TX

On our way home, my wife and I noticed 6-8 seemingly glowing balls of fire slightly larger than softballs hovering maybe 50 feet over a few department stores. They moved up and down and side to side like lighting bugs do, but they were much too big to be lighting bugs. They were not remnants from fireworks, they moved like they were intelligent lifeforms. The strangest part is it seemed like my wife and I were the only ones who saw them. I thought we were going crazy. We would have recorded it, but our phones had both just died before we saw them. The event occurred at the intersection of Staples and Saratoga. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Moundsview, MN

Myself and two friends were hanging out on the deck talking when we noticed something different. A round red object about 20 yards from us moving just above the tree line. Maybe the size of a beach ball. It was silent, moving slowly across the sky hugging the tree tops. So close to us! It almost looked like a ball of fire with a white light in the middle on the bottom. The lights were pulsing. It kept sowly traveling away from us until out of sight. It was not fireworks! Not a plane! This was something we had never seen before! We did get pictures but it was kind of far away by the time we had the cameras out. How wierd and cool!
