high altitude, saw 10-12 small lights moving in a single file formation…each light was equally spaced….saw this from N-NW traveling up and north….then one at a time they disappeared into the dark….unsure if the military flies this many craft in single file formation? They were far away and looked like little stars….I was alone on a big piece of property..wondering if anyone else saw this? [NUFORC annotation: Starlink - Probable]

Fairhope, AL

I looked west over Mobile Bay at 9:36PM and saw 22 lights floating and moving west to east. I initially thought it was Starlink however, the lights were not organized in the same manner in a straight line. I stop to film the event. It was extremely surreal, as I have never seen anything like it before. [NUFORC annotation: Starlink - Certain]

Valley Center, CA

There were about 25-30 cluster of lights moving in the same direction. Lasted for less than a minute then they all disappeared at the same time. (They were not in a line. It was a cluster of lights in different formations.)

Redlands, CA

About 9:20 pm, i seen a line of staggered lights in the sky coming from the west and they were heading easty moving considerably fast. I didnt count but there was about 20+ lights. They were fairly bright and were one solid color. I called for my dad and sister to come out who were also perplexed at the sight. The lights weren't spaced evenly and were weaving as they moved. As if they were slaloming. After watching for a minute, the scattered and disappeared practically instantly faster than they were moving before.

We saw a small light in the sky that was red and green. We thought it was an airplane but it was just hovering. It would quickly disappear by turning the lights off and then reappear minutes later. [NUFORC annotation: Aircraft - Possible]

Britannia Beach, BC · Canada

Sitting on a deck with all exterior lights extinguished and little light pollution, capturing stars by using 10-sec exposure and wide angle lens, setting the camera on a table pointing up and clicking the button. All other objects in the sky are stationary. In the upper left of the photo, an odd pattern showed up. Zooming in showed a series of lights in 2 or 3 streaks like a fast-moving object traveling in an erratic curved path. Checked Starlink finder website, and nothing showed visible at the time. Could possibly be something like a couple fireflies flying in a formation, but that seems far-fetched. Hard to say what it may be. Witnessed from 32.74532, -116.13906 viewing in a due north direction myself and 5 others witnessed lights that were very bright (some not as bright as others) enter atmosphere along the horizon adjacent to the Big Dipper constellation between the hours of 12:30am-3am August 13, 2023. These lights made geometric shapes, re-aligned to make other formations and also witnessed 5-6 appear and move down towards horizon (coordinated group) then make a sharp high speed right turn in perspective of the viewing position. These lights appeared to be some white and some red and seemed to stop once the Big Dipper constellation moved past the horizon.

I first noticed the light when I was looking up at the stars, as at first I thought it was a very bright star. It started to hover in a circular motion and sometimes move in quick bursts, but would generally stay in the same spot. My backyard is underneath a flight path and this light was well above any planes flying over that night and stayed in this general spot for the entire time I was outside (~30 minutes). This light did not change colors but would have a rhythmic blinking pattern.

Myself (male, 50s), my son (male, 30s), and two grandsons (15 and 11) were in the back yard, looking up at the sky for the Perseid meteor shower (which wasn't very active). My 15 year old grandson noticed the "star" moving erratically, first. After a minute or so, we all saw what he had seen. I was laying in my zero gravity chair, facing the east, but looking straight up. The "star" was directly above us... maybe just a little east of zenith. The "star" was definitely not a satellite, as I have seen many of those before, and understand their movements. What we were seeing was what looked like a star, but it was moving (not at a steady speed) toward the west. It appeared to stop quite often, but not for long. It would also move from side to side (north and south), while still moving in a westerly direction. Sometimes slowly, and other times a little faster. After watching for about 45 minutes, I had to move my head backwards to the point where it became uncomfortable. All of the other stars in the sky were still in their same general position, but the one we were watching had moved considerably. I also have a tree in my back yard that I could use as a landmark. After about an hour, the "star" had moved about 10 degrees toward the west. We did not watch it until it was no longer able to be seen, since it was late. It could have been lit up by itself or it could have been reflecting sunlight. There was no change in the intensity of the brightness, though.

Manzanita, OR

It was a beautiful, clear, fairly still night in Manzanita so 4 friends and I decided to turn off all the lights on my beach house deck and watch the Perseid meteor shower. We’d been sitting for an hour or so gazing at meteors, satellites and an occasional plane pass over when I gazed to the East/slightly SE about 1/3-1/2 above the horizon at a group of stars (I don’t know much about astronomy so I don’t know what stars they were) and saw a small white/silver pinpoint of light, not much bigger or brighter than a star, suddenly appear moving in that area. At first I thought it was a star but it started moving erratically, although rather slowly, up, down, sideways, back and forth. The nearby stars it was moving around stayed stationary so it was obviously not a star. I have no idea how far away it was or how fast it was moving. 2 of my friends also saw this light and while this was happening we talked and agreed this was not looking like an airplane or helicopter and was definitely not a satellite or a meteor. And then it just disappeared. I stayed out and watched for another hour, and though the meteor shower increased, I didn’t see anymore strangely moving lights.

These objects seem like floating stars, only larger & brighter. Prior to last night, I saw only one (in the east and southeast sky). It was there as long as I stood looking at it, each time I observed it. At first, it seemed like it could be a drone with a large bright light. However, numerous times it made quick movements up and down or side to side. It is unlike any aircraft, i.e. helicopter, jet, etc. going from point A to B. It just hovers in the same spot, like a balloon, but is unlike a balloon in that it makes those quick movements. Last night, I saw one in the southeast sky and, for the first time, one in the western sky. Prior to that, I saw the one in the east or southeast sky almost every night when the sky is clear before going to bed (around 10 pm) and on Wednesdays when going and returning from an obligation at 1:50 to 3:10 am. Live photos are attached.

Two objects seen, one was orb like light above another that was moving with a visible tail, the orb had disappeared, and left the other object that had a visible tail. Then the object that was traveling with a visible tail, disappeared, and the orb like light, was left by itself. After a while, all these objects just blinked out of view. Caught video of both just not together. [NUFORC annotation: Aircraft - Probable]

There was one light to the southeast, likely over lake ontario, around 11.15pm. Very windy night, cloud cover was passing over. Was at a high altitude but below cloud. I could see it pass through clouds. Light went from dim to very bright to nearly unseeable to bright again. It hovered but was moving around slowly in one area. A plane was approaching from the north, northeast, below clouds. The light slowly ascended as plane flew by. After plane had passed it dropped quickly. The light dimmed, or it moved into the clouds, and I could no longer see it.

Saw flashing light in sky. Did not move and then shot upward. 2 dark planes with red flashing light flew on either side of this thing and then flew away. The flashing light then started traveling into the distance laterally not further into space. THEN looking back in the original direction my boyfriend and i see a line of Green lights hovering just above our tree line in our backyard. We are awestruck and just stare at it until it starts to move in the same direction the flashing light went until it disappeared from sight.

My husband and I were sitting outside on the patio and I was noticing that there were a lot of clouds and not sure if we’d be able to see any of the proceeds meteor shower tonight. When something caught my eye and I looked up and there was a very bright light and I told my husband look and he turned to look and it grew very bright as it was slowly moving and then it faded away and it was gone 10/22 tops. I do not think it was a meteor because it was moving very slowly.

They also would dim out regularly, and reappear like a dimmable bulb, but they would be in a different pattern, sometime close together, sometime a few degrees apart. First on Tuesday and then tonight. Same stretch of road, 2 or 3 am. I had to exit off I 77 and take my semi to the shop around the Jonesville/Boonville area. And on my way home I stopped at a couple places that face north on highway 67 east, to see if I could get a video, but no luck. I will report again when I run this route again.

7 people in two different cars, arriving at slightly different times to a home, saw 6-7 yellow lights in a line, perfectly spaced in the sky, static and unmoving. They remained in the sky for approximately 30 seconds or so and then disappeared without a trace. We were unable to capture any images of the object/lights. Immediately afterward, we began to see what appeared to be jets coming from the east, one after the other, heading in the direction of whatever we saw. We counted 15 jets total and we are not in a flight path for planes. We also checked to see if it was possible that the object was the starlink satellite but it was located elsewhere at the time.

Cedar City, UT

When first spotted after work from my driveway, lights resembling fireflies in the sky, were moving up, down, back and forth, only visible on the horizon around the planet that's 1/4 from northern horizon from Cedar city. Once I reached my back porch, I grabbed my binoculars, and witnessed a steady stream of staggered formation glowing gold objects. The were only visible as they past above and below that area around the star. They had stopped their eradic movement, as 4 or five passed in formation, high and low, in a near continuous trajectory. This went on for an hour. There was a small brake between the next group, but they kept their staggered formations high and low. One broke formation, and went high to low in a dropping maneuver, but quickly turned and joined the next passing formation. I witnessed this through my binoculars, while on the phone with a friend who had just arrived home. He could not see them from the north side of cedar city. This was the meteor shower they have been talking about. I seen them with tails, moving double the speed of these craft. Satellites, don't act like them, and as I watched them in the first, they are absolutely agile enough to mimic the movement of fireflies. This is my second such incident in a month, I work night in the field fueling equipment alone. This time I had just arrived home with no issues until then. If they are gold flying soccer's, they are not coming as one gold craft, they are here in the hundreds. Nobody cares anymore, maybe you guys do, maybe you don't, but what is happening is an invasion. Biden shouldn't have shot a few of them down, maybe things would be as they were.

I saw what looked like a star but it would move to the right then stop. It would go up and stop. It would go down stop. It would zig zag. I got some binoculars and looked at it it had red, blue, green blinking lights. It did this for over a hour. We had a SpaceX rocket launch at 1.17 am.

Mitchell, SD

Saw orangeish yellow light (not incredibly bright, but noticeable) moved from the west to east- about 2 Minutes later I saw another light, same color and brightness, go in the same direction. It seemed lower than what an airplane flies at. Then a few minutes later, I saw the 3rd light with same color and brightness move from the north to southwest. Lights did not disappear or blink from what I could tell. Steady light. It was slower than a shooting star, where I could walk on my deck and follow it. It was fast but not incredibly fast.

Sitting with my grandchild on the front porch. Pointing out various stars, planets and aircraft. I pointed out what I thought was a satellite. He wanted to know what satellites do and we started talking. He says Papa it’s moving around. I look back up and this object is moving around with crazy vector thrust making 90 degree turns. It lasted about 15 seconds and then went behind a cloud. Waited for the cloud to pass but nothing else was observed
