While traveling east on Highway 19, I was observing a lightning storm slightly north of the highway. Approximately 2 miles west of Burnsville, NC, I observed a disk shaped craft, illuminated by the flashes of lighting. I only saw the craft once, I searched the sky several more times, but was unable to spot the craft again. At arm's length the craft was at least the size of a quarter, probably 800-1000 ft high and was extremely shiny. I cannot say about sound as I was driving at the time.

The lights flickered and then faded away. Shortly after they faded, another light from the north, flew across the sky. It soon faded away.

White semi-cross shaped object in daytime speed was slower than a plane. It gave me plenty of time to watch it until it became cloud covered. It flew higher than the hawks that frequent our view line but was definitely not as high as a plane. Then shortly after, my son, my husband and I were watching at the same time, when a dark oval shaped object followed in the same line as the white object, at the same height and speed.

Was a passenger in a car heading south as sun was setting, looking at a cloud with sun rays all around saw a white oval blob shape resembling a car hovering just above cloud. Saturday night, August 22nd, 2015, 10:30 pm. I went out on my west facing porch during a TV commercial to look at the setting moon and the stars. Since the commercials were running long, I sat down in a chair and looked up to at the sky toward a bright star or planet that I was facing and the setting moon to my left. I noticed another bright star, (not as bright as the one I was facing) and another one, slightly less bright close to the bright star. I at first thought my eyes were playing tricks on me as the 2 stars seemed to be moving, they were, flying in formation with the one that was less bright trailing and to one side. They were traveling at the same speed traveling south to north, almost directly overhead. They looked like satellites, but I do not believe that satellites travel in tandem or a tight formation. There was no noise, no flashing lights, the objects were in orbit. I watched them till they faded out like satellite do. My sighting lasted less than a minute. Possibly satellites? PD

My significant other and I saw a light formation flying from the area of uptown Charlotte, moving south, at about 9:15 p.m. Friday, August 21st. We live just a few blocks outside of uptown. The lights were spotted as they moved over an apartment building on the uptown side of the condo, and they flew directly over the condo. There were a couple helicopters in the area at the time (due to a ruckus at a baseball game uptown that was occurring). An airplane also flew by/below the light formation. It took about two minutes from the time we spotted it over the next door building to the time it had disappeared over our building and was out of sight. My SO grabbed binoculars and reported that the lights looked like discs with lights, but he also could not get the binoculars focused (I grabbed the iPhone).

At 21:30 hours on the 08/15/2015 driving from Mars Hill, NC, to Weverville, NC, on I-26, me and my wife seen a bright white object. my wife said look a meteor! I looked and said no too low and slower. it was a aircraft maybe a F-16? But the speed was much more than a F-16. When from Weverville to mountains south of Asheville NC in 1 min .20+ miles. Then at the mountains slowed why down and turned red. could see two maybe three red steady lights and the white light was gone/out. Wife said look, his brake lights are on now. when the object over flew us there was NO other lights on. could only see the bright white light.Was not yellow like afterburner. was NO sound.whatched for maybe two mins looked like went over the mountains. I have been to many air shows and seen aircraft at near 700 mph. this was faster. the object was moving south. I have lived in Mars Hill, NC, for 15 years and seen fighters,C-130's, choppers, even a blimp! Was too fast to see a shape. but the red lights never seen that type of steady red lights on a US aircraft.

On a clear night at 9:30pm, I sat in a lounge chair with my girlfriend on my back deck to do some stargazing, maybe catch a meteor or two, and then view the International Space Station that would later pass at 9:57pm. At 9:38pm I noticed something unfamiliar in the sky with my naked eye in the area of the Andromeda galaxy. At first I thought I was looking at a star. However, after looking at it for a few seconds, I noticed it was moving very slowly from East to West, it was larger (not brighter though) than a star and it was egg-shaped. At this point I figured it was some unique satellite so I ran to get my binoculars for a closer look. Within 30 seconds I returned with my Bushnell 10x50 wide angle binoculars. After focusing in on the object I was completely astonished. It was two concentric rings of light with two bright spots on the leading edge of the outer ring. As my girlfriend and I passed the binoculars back and forth, it continued to slow down ! further until it came to a complete stop (relative to the stars in the binocular's field of view) at 9:43pm. We continued to take turns with the binoculars in complete amazement. I then decided to go to my neighbor's house to show them this amazing object in the sky. The parents were out for the evening, but their three kids, their babysitter and I went out onto their back deck. Everyone had a couple good looks at it. It was still frozen in place in the sky, however the bright spots on the outer ring of light were on the other side, there were more of them and a little less bright. I then returned to my house to retrieve and set up my telescope. I knew it would take about 5 minutes to assemble so I went back to my deck to view the object again. Now, at 9:53pm, it had started traveling back very slowly in the opposite direction, now going from West to East. We watched it travel slowly for three minutes, until 9:56pm. Then we both looked down to talk to each other, ! looked back up and it was nowhere to be seen. A minute later, at 9:57 pm, we spotted the International Space Station, traveling West to East, across the northern sky. We continued to search the sky for the object off-and-on for another hour, until 11pm, but never saw it again. In total we viewed this object for over 15 minutes. I would estimate it was at an altitude comparable to that of satellites orbiting the earth. I have been an avid stargazer for over 30 years that can easily distinguish the planets (by name) from stars with the naked eye, easily spot satellites and have viewed the International Space Station many times, but this was a truly unique object and experience.

I was working late at my computer and needed something from my truck, so I stepped out in the driveway to get it. I then paused for moment and looked up at the sky, as I am always sky watching when I have the opportunity. My field of vision was somewhat limited due to surrounding trees. As I looked up I saw a star that was slightly brighter than the surrounding starts. As I stared at it my eyes began to focus and a realized that it was rotating slightly. It was a triangle with a white light on each tip and a red light in the center It rotated both to the right and left but remained in a constant position. I would guess its altitude to be near 40,000 feet. There was no sound heard. As I watched I tried to see if there was any directional movement but could not see any. I then picked three brighter stars as reference points and located the object slightly off center of the middle of the triangle. I looked away for a while and looked back up to note that the object had moved from slightly off center to a position just inside the perimeter line between two of the reference stars. I went out today, a day later, nearly the same time and could not see any objects within the reference triangle of stars. I would add one more unusual item. While watching the object rotating in position I heard a buzz near me. It sounded like a cell phone on vibrate or a fuel pump in a car. After about five minutes I heard it again. My cell phone was in the house and I had in my hand a fully discharged Ipod. I could not tell where the sound came from. I was standing next to a 2001 CRV which was near the direction of the sound.

What I had thought was a star started moving, fast!... At first I thought might be a satellite. Noticed was moving too fast, as I have watched satellies before, many times. As a child, I stayed w/ my grandparents every summer, far from city lights. Every night I would watch a satilite move across the sky. Vary dim, could barely see it. Steady and slow. This object was moving vary fast. Made its way across the sky in a seconds. Also, changing directions (twice!), before disappearing in the light on the horizon. I was driving home when I saw a very bright light up above me in the sky. It was pretty low to the ground, so that's why I became curious. It seemed to have a really bright spotlight on the front. As I kept driving, I saw the side of it and it had a few small, blinking lights. It had a weird shape that was sort of like an elongated oval.

Driving home from work around 9 p.m., saw a bright light in the distance that I thought was a planet at first. I got closer and assumed it was a plane because there are a couple airports nearby, but thought it was odd the plane wasn't coming closer nor going away. It kind of moved across the street and I was able to make out its triangular shape with 3 distinct lights on each point. They were pulsing and the object flew just low enough that I could distinctly see its trianfular silhouette above the trees on Weddington Road. It didn't make any sound and was completely motionless except for pulsing light. I was able to completely pass it with my car. I've always been skeptical of UFOs but this was the oddest thing.

It moved rapidly but I managed to get my seven year old daughter in position before it passed where we could not see. It might have been a Mylar balloon, but it was moving way too fast for what I know.

My sister continued on home, and to the right of the car, which was north, as I was the passenger, I could see over the tree line a large object that was disc shape and almost look like a Zeppelin or some type of blimp. At first, I thought it was a blimp and just dismissed it, but then as I look closer, I could tell it was spinning at a rapid rate. It wasn't much farther above the treeline and must have been less than a quarter of a mile away from me. The object was approximately the size of what appeared to be a tractor trailer, from end to end, floating in the sky, and it hovered without making any noise. As we had stopped on the side of the highway to look at the object, our car had made no noise there were no other cars on the highway there were no other of street lamps or any other light sources visible to misconstrue what we were seeing as the driver of the vehicle I was in also Witnessed The event The object was amber and orange in color and seem to change color Variations as it hovered it seems when it was spinning that they were multi colored lights and I could make out blue are yellow in a red it was slow and then it started to appear to disintegrate as it's fun quickly and then disappeared in a zigzag motion leaving some type of smoke trail that was also zigzag behind it I tried To capture all of this on film and didn't think I was able to catch anything because it was so dark and I was using the camera on my phone. As I was witnessing this object hover in the sky then disappear I was completely surprised yet arrested by what I was seeing because I was not sure what exactly it was I have heard reports of people seeing things in the sky and I've never really believed in any of it until ! I saw what I couldn't describe and I was extremely shocked by ! the size of this object and its close proximity to the tree line and the fact that none of the trees were moving as if being blown by wind and then it was completely inaudible. Just shocking. Also, to mention I'm a guest to this area just visiting Maiden, N.C. from New Jersey!!!!

Three of us were sitting on my porch in Franklin, NC, when one of us saw the fireball come over the mountains from the west. We all looked at it and I thought it was a comet of some sort, but it didn’t make any sounds, didn’t leave any kind of trail and it was moving much more slowly than it should have been I thought. It moved from West to East just south of us and it took quite a long time to do so. It was glowing like it was on fire but again, no tail. It seemed like a giant hot ball of iron glowing after being pulled out of the fire. Compared to the size of the planes in the sky it was either quite close or very large. After seeing it move through the sky and behind the mountains on the east, it felt more like it was something that was made to look like a comet or meteor. After we couldn’t see it anymore we all waited outside for any kind of sound. Thinking if it hit somewhere we would hear or feel something you know. There was no sound though, even when a jet passes at 30,000 feet overhead you can hear the roar of the engines after it has passed, so it was quite strange that there was absolutely no sound at all. Red fireball or sphere arose from behind a house or the sound (?) and quickly, silently, rose into the sky going Northward. Moved at a very fast speed and then turned westward and disappeared. The light seemed larger and brighter than airplane lights. No sound of a helicopter, and it was quite close (should have been audible, were it a helicopter). A friend and I were walking around in Weymouth woods. As we came out into a clearing, suddenly I witnessed a brilliantly lit green fireball in the sky to the west. The fireball appeared to be very large in size and seemed to be falling from space. For a moment after it disappeared I expected to hear an explosion, however, there was none. Possible meteor? PD

I recently created the star constellation " ORION ", in my front yard. Using stone and solar lights. The very first night that I lay out there watching the stars and night sky, praying and just talking with " God... ", right where I was looking a huge red light appeared. Way back behind my house, through the woods and high above the trees. It was very bright yet somewhat dark red. It formed out of nowhere and hung there for just a few seconds before shooting across the sky in such enormous speed heading North...and disappeared right before my eyes!!! I never saw anything like it before in my life. I didnt intentionally try an provoke, nor am I into any kind of dark magic, or haluntionations of any kind. It seemed like it appeared because of the Orion Star constellation that I had made. In that brief momenent before flying away, I feel like it was looking down at me and wanted to say or tell me something like what the hell do you think you are doing!? I must say I am still at awe, unaware of what I actually saw, was and is it good or bad!? All I kept saying is I saw you...over and over, before running into the house to tell my Mom and Wife. The only other that I attempted to tell is the Ancient Alien show...Thank you for being here!!! Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD

I notice a vertical, cigar-shaped, orange light in the west sky. It sat still and did not move. Then 2 more shot up from what looked like the ground, like a rocket. They moved away from the still object. Then 2 more done the same thing and moved away in the opposite direction. All the while the first object never moved. Then out of nowhere, it just disappeared in a blink of an eye. It was gone. I have never in my life witnessed anything like it. They were not planes or drones and most definitely not fireworks. It kind of startled me and made me a little nervous only because I never seen anything like it.

While my husband took our dogs out he started calling me. I ran out. There were 3 sphere shaped red lights in a trangle in the distance. We watched them as the moved then they disappeared. After we came inside I heard a helicopter. We ran back out again. My husband a military man said that's a military helicopter. It wasn't flying the the same path as the three red spheres went. It went in a half circle around.

I was out jogging down Rock Haven Road/BPW club. I saw two bright hazy orbs in the west- south western sky. They were basically in line with Carrboro High School's track and field area. It was cloudy last night, so I thought it was the moon coming through the clouds. These lights looked as bright as the moon, and had the same slightly yellowish-white color. I proceeded to jog for approximately two more minutes, when I looked up at the sky, what I thought was the moon had shifted its position in the sky. The lights were no longer in line with the track and field area, and appeared from my vantage to now be at the north end of the high school. I continued to jog, now about to turn on BPW club, when I could actually see the object moving at approximately the same speed I was running (~6 mph) to the North-north east. The two original orbs were visible, and I thought I could make out a dimmer third light. There was no sound. I was alone and got frightened. I discontinued observing the object and jogged back to my apartment. While doing so, I called my mother, thus I did not experience any sort of electrical interference. It should be noted, that I could not easily tell how far the object was away from me, so my estimates of speed are likely very incorrect.
