Looking to east we saw two large orange lights in sky. Looked to be about height we would expect Helicopters to fly. They slowly moved west towards us then changed direction to the east. One of them went first then the other one changed direction. Speed of movement was similar to that of a Helicopter in search mode. I saw many helicopters when I lived in Ft. Campbell. I never saw them in night sky as orange balls of light. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

October 18, 2014 · 9:00 PM · LIGHT

Plainfield, IL

Stepped outside in the evening and saw in the distance red and white alternating light ascend straight up from behind trees. The lights must have either been small or far away as they would blank out every time line-of-sight had it behind one of the power lines. We were unable to capture using cell phone cameras as the lights would not show up on the otherwise black screen. Lights appeared to be quite high in altitude, and made several back and forth flight patterns unlike what a plane would be capable of. (Helicopter, perhaps, but there was no noise) At one point the lights changed to blue, and ultimately descended straight down behind the trees in the distance to a similar location from where it arose. I thought perhaps it could have been a neighbor's remote-control helicopter or UFO, but was surprised at the extremely high altitude it appeared to be able to reach.

LaGrange, IL

There was 4 orange/red fireballs flying in a straight line following each other. Then they all separated the straight line and formed a giant square in the sky and became completely still not moving. This all was about 3 minutes long. While in the square one at a time the the light started to dim. The light disappeared one at a time until all 4 fire balls were gone. This took about another minute. My view point was from a building 5 stories high and had a great view point of the sky. This was a sighting around 8:55 at night and crystal clear sky. I would guess the objects were in a southwest location from LaGrange, Illinois, maybe around Woodridge, or Naperville, Illinois. Crete, IL

On the way out to my the barn tonight, located in rural Crete, Illinois, in the southern sky a little to the east, I noticed a stationary spot in the sky, alternating red, blue, and white light or lights, a single source, not like a plane's lights that appear as separate lights and near their wingtips. There are lots of planes in the sky at night out by me, and I see those all the time, but this was much different. I noticed it wasn't moving...or if it appeared to move, was in very, very small circles...so got out the binoculars, turned all the exterior house lights off, and held them as steady as I could against a tree, and watched this thing for over 15 minutes. I think it was spherical in shape, but I can't be sure. It never really seemed to move, the light just kept oscillating red, blue, white, appearing from a single point, not separate points...but this was at significant altitude, so it could have been separate lights close together. At arms’ length, it’s size was perhaps 1 millimeter. After watching for this period of time, suddenly, in a %$#& instant, and I mean, in a half-second, it became a pinpoint, way far off, moving from the SSE to the SSW, and its inclination went from about 30 degrees off the horizon to perhaps 60 degrees. At arms’ length, its size at this point was only a fraction of a millimeter. I could barely make it out, but could still see a faint color change taking place, unlike the stars around it. Tried to keep focused on it, but it disappeared or I lost track of it. Stayed out there for a while, hoping for another look, but the clouds moved in.

Chicago, IL

I'm in river north (Chicago) watching TV in my apartment. I see a bright green ball of light through the window facing North. It was moving similar to how I would describe a falling star, almost a perfect 45 degree angle - downward. I saw it for about 3-4 seconds and then it disappeared in the on the horizon (buildings/Lake Michigan, depending on the depth). I've subsequently watched scores of airplains fly by and none are anything like the green ball I saw. Did anyone else see this? Chicago, IL

This object caught our attention but shot so fast across the city that we were unable to easily distinguish what it could have possibly been. It was too high from the buildings that it definitely was nothing of a firework. Witness does not indicate a date or duration for the event, and elects to remain totally anonymous. Hence, we are unable to confirm the date and duration, and have assigned arbitrary estimates for both. PD

I was looking at the lunar eclipse. I took my attention off the lunar eclipse. I started looking at the stars at 5:55AM for a moment. I notice 2 identical stars looking like they were both moving as small thin clouds were moving past them both. The stars were both on the other side of the sky far away from the lunar eclipse. The clouds were moving past in front of them at a medium speed. They both suddenly diminished as the clouds finally past by in front of them both. All the other stars were still there till I went inside at 6:17AM. I noticed them both there for 25 seconds and they could of have been there for a longer time then the time I noticed them both there. The sky was clear to the left of the diminishing stars as if those were the last clouds to pass. They were not stars. They actually may both weren't moving and the clouds moving made it look like they were. They were trying to pretend like stars and were UFO's that looked exactly like 2 stars. I will never forget this happened. There was a helicopter around the area at the time and was flying around maybe because of a car accident in Crestwood next to Oak Lawn. I don't trust stars after this happened. They diminished after I noticed them and know they probably knew to leave before I took a picture or filmed with my windows cellphone. They were intelligent to disappear like that. I am not surprised that this happened. I use to things like this happening. They made no sound. All I could hear was a helicopter in the background. My husband called me outside to look at a bright light much larger than the stars and it seemed low in the sky. I grabbed the camera and he took several photos. We do not know why the leaves on the tree are so bright unless it is the result of the flash. Enlarging the photo shocked me, as it looks like an ugly face to me, yet it was in the sky. Have no idea what this was. We live in a rural area and this is not the first time we saw odd lights in the sky. There was no sound, but noticed two blue lights in the photos near the ground.

October 7, 2014 · 8:00 PM · CHEVRON

Sigel, IL

As I was letting my dog out to use the bathroom, I noticed a very bright white light to the east of our home. I called for my wife to ensure I wasn’t just seeing things. It was about 500 yards away and a few hundred feet off of the ground. The light sat motionless for almost 5 minutes. It then started to travel straight up at a slow rate of speed. It then traveled westbound in our direction. It also began descending as it moved in our direction. It was moving very slowly and leveled out at about the same height I first observed. It flew right over head and continued out of sight. It was a very large almost V shaped craft. It had a very bright white light on the front of the craft. On the back was 5 smaller lights. One on each “wing” tip and then one halfway between the tip and the center ( on each side). Then there was a light in the center of the “V”. On the bottom of the craft was three red lights. The thing that bothered me most was the total lack of noise from this craft. Had it been a jet of helicopter I would have heard it. I am still at a total loss as to what this thing could have been. It was unsettling to say the least.

5 reddish orange lights emerged across lake over treetops simultaneously and traveled northeast at varying speeds. Separated as they moved. Scale of light remained consistent. College graduate observers.

The object rose in the southwest sky and continued on overhead to the northeast until no longer visible behind the treeline. It wiggled side-to-side a little in its flight path but flew mostly straight. It was bright orange and crossed the sky quickly, in a matter of seconds. It looked like a firework at first, but didn't burst--it just kept going. Date is flawed. We have changed it, to reflect a sighting in September 2014, not October 2014. PD

I went outside to let the dog out during a football game at half time. The dog ran to the front of the house barking. Since the dog is usually very calm, I knew something was up so I followed him. When I came around the corner I saw that he was barking at the sky. I looked up above the house next door and saw an orange fire ball that had sort of a ring around it and thought at first that it was the flame from a hot air balloon and wondered why it was flying at night. I watched it for a few minutes and the flame didn't shut down the way a balloon would but it remained stationary during that time and made no sound. I think it was about 500 feet north of where I was standing and maybe 1000 feet up so it wasn't a helicopter. It then started moving to the east very slowly and when it got to be what I would guess to be about a mile or so away, it looked sort of like a burning cross in the sky. At that point I saw a single flash of white light and it was gone. I have no idea what this thing was, All I can say is that I can't stop thinking about it.

As I walked outside around 7:47 (PM), I saw my neighbors pointing at the sky above my house. There were four lights in the sky. They didn’t have form or a craft shape. It certainly was not flares or lanterns. The lights bounced back and forth meeting each other in the center than bounced back away from each other at times they moved in a semi circle went back away and bounced to the center almost meeting each other. They stayed the same distance in the sky the duration, about the height of a landing airplane. I am so happy there were other witness’s! I don’t have a video camera I tried FaceTime to my daughter to see if she could also verify seeing them but she couldn’t see it through my I Phone camera. I kept wondering if it was some sort of spotlight or human device but I could not trace anything from the ground that appeared to be shining light towards the sky or any light source. I continued to go outside to see if it stopped, the event happened for over an hour stopping around 8:56 PM. At times, the lights would slightly separate and turn into two lights each but there was no pattern or count to it. Because only two would separate at a time and turn into two lights then back to one and bounce again towards the center- at times slightly traveling in a circle turning back and then bouncing in the center but the pattern was random. I did not feel fear; more mesmerized wondering what it was. The most irritating thing about it was to have no way to record it. Moreover, my Nikon doesn’t have a night vision. I am familiar with astronomy, aircrafts, satellites, etc it was nothing I could explain. I actually worried it could be orbs that are spotted before an earthquake or something. I think many would term it ghosts, because it was not a bright light it was more cloudy (transparent) grayish looking. The circles of light were not perfect in shape were round but not exact in size in relation to one another. I continue to try to find a logical explanation for the lights, I cannot find one. I watched the sky last night September 26, 2014 to see if it happened again (they didn’t come back last night), and will continue to watch nightly to see if it comes back. I drew diagrams of how the mystery lights traveled but am sad to report I don’t have a picture or video to prove it. I DID take notes on the event in my journal. They were unidentifiable flying lights. Advertising lights?? PD

Collinsville, IL

Was driving north on 157 when I noticed a bright light which I first thought was a C-5 that normally fly over to Scott Air Force Base some 15 miles to our east. As I got closer the light increased in intensity. Due to the low altitude I figured it had to be a police helicopter so I slowed down. As I drove under it it was banking to the east towards the tree line of the bluffs. What I briefly saw in about 3 seconds was a rectangular shaped object moving slowly with no apparent sound. The size was like holding a envelope at arm's length. Would estimate height at less than 300 feet. It was huge! When it banked, the bright lights I first saw faded, and I could make out some faint but sharp led type of lighting on the perimeters and within object. I turned around a sped south to see if I could spot it where the bluff are lower to east but had no luck. It almost looked like a flying super modern penthouse if that doesnt sound crazy. Not sure I saw all of it due to the lighting. Someone else had to have seen it. Incredible!!!

Was outside on the phone with a friend of mine and noticed a light rapidly changing color from white/red/blue moving slowly above the tree line to the SE of my back porch. Observed it for a while, and it didn't move as quickly as a plane would have been moving in any direction. Observed a second light slightly north of the other light, with the same color changes. At one point both became very bright for a few seconds, then changed color shifts from the white/red/blue to one light only going white/red and the other going white/blue. Then observed a third light above the two, about halfway between them doing the full white/red/blue color change. Friend on the phone went outside where he lived and was able to observe on light following the white/blue color change.

Was driving south on I-39 from Wisconsin to Peoria, IL. I looked off into a field at night- and saw in the sky- a row of very VERY bright lights. They were stationary and did not move. Equally distanced apart. First sighting was near the exit for Sterling Illinois. Stopped at the next exit just down the road at Henry- to see if I could snap a photo. Oddly-- when normal planes/helicopters, came within the air space of the bright lights- the lights went out. When the planes passed by- the lights all eventually came back on- so strange!!! One light was a bit more brighter than the other lights. A side note- I saw this same formation of lights- last summer one evening- over Miller Beach/Gary Indiana on my way to my summer house. Same string of bright white/yellow lights- Except that there were more lights then- like 6-7. ** THESE WERE NOT CHINESE LANTERNS **

At first there were only two. One sped ahead, Then came back to the other, then passed it again. A few seconds later, Anther appeared. Heading from west to east. Then another, and another. Both traveled from west to east. They were very low, and made absolutely No sound at all. The last one could be clearly seen to be a thick disk. Witness provides no contact information. PD

I was leaving the house with my wife to go grab a bite to eat. We were driving out on my street going East. The sky was completely clear and blue. Sunset had started and I was looking at the sky admiring the scenery. The sun light coming from the west was shining bright when reflected by planes cruising at very high altitude. I saw at least 6 planes cruising at very high altitude, probably 30k to 36k feet, following two routes patrern from east to west. Every single one of the planes had very visible chemtrails. Then I realized there was a extremely bright esphere by one of the airplanes. It stroke me as odd, because it was too early yet for stars to appear in the sky. I told my wife to look at it, and we both realized that the brightness of the object was coming from the reflection of the sun light. It was definitely metalic and reflecting the sun light. But how could that be? The object was in the form of a large esphere, about 2 to 3 times the size of the airplane nearby it. It was crusing along the airplane. About the same altitude and same speed. No chemtrail whatsoever! We realized then that we could be looking at a UFO! We were very skeptical at first. But then the object which seemed to be following the airplane, turned to the opposite side, and start accelerating eastward. The speed in which it was going was about 10 times the speed of the planes. Then It just went straight up and the bright faded until it was gone out of sight, which took about 3 to 5 seconds! We could tel! it was going up, because it was not going in the direction of the horizon. That was it. My wife and I looked at each other almost not believing what just had happened!
