not sure, AZ

I photographed a hot air balloon thru my vehicle's windshield. A few days later I enlarged photo for a close up view. I then noticed what appears to be a silvery ovalish, disc-shaped object. This object was visible to me upon spotting the hot air balloon. It's only visible upon enlarging photo.

Maricopa, AZ

At approximately 11:00pm, I was driving along 347 in the Gila River Reservation, when two orange lights, a respectable distance apart, appeared together in the southwestern part of the sky. I'd seen similar lights the night before. As I watched, four more lights gradually appeared to the lower right near the horizon. All four were in a straight line in tight formation. All lights stayed in position for just a minute or so. Meanwhile, I began to take pictures with my camera phone. First, one of the two original lights disappeared - or more aptly, dimmed till vanishing. Then shortly thereafter, the other one disappeared. The remaining four stayed visible for a little while longer. They shifted position slightly, still staying in tight formation. And once again very slowly, they faded away. As for my background - I'm an equipment technician for a photofinishing and book manufacturer in located in Phoenix, AZ.

Phoenix, AZ

I was in the front yard, time was 3:00 pm. I was looking at the trees in the yard, when this light caught my attention. It stayed in one position for approximately six minutes, I could see what looked like a shaded (dark) area at the lower portion of the sphere. The object appears to pulsate the light it was giving off. At this point in time, I went into my house and brought out my digital camera and took a few shots. Then I noticed an airplain from Scottsdale airport fly from east to west underneath the object, bringing to mind that it was farther above and away from my location than I originally thought it to be. A little later it moved upward and south and disappeared.

While trying to photograph Venus tonight, my Wife, Son, and I witnessed a strange constellation of orange, steady (not blinking) lights in the eastern sky moving in what appeared to be a south-westerly direction. The Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) disappeared below the SSW horizon. There were five lights forming a triangle or chevron, separated by what appeared to be a great distance. I am familiar with common aircraft navigation lights, and these lights were orange--not the standard red, green, or white.

Chandler, AZ

Around 8:20 PM, January 28th, 2017, in Chandler, Arizona, I walked to the mailbox and notice 3 large orange lights hovering above. They were group in a triangular shape, not moving for around for ~1 or 2 minutes. Next thing I know, 2 shoot off and disappear, while the 3rd light stays behind for about another minute, before disappearing, as well. During this time, it was easy to distinguish airplanes flying in the distance.

January 28, 2017 · 6:30 PM · TRIANGLE

Scottsdale, AZ

Leaving our house in the mountains of Scottsdale with a view of the city, my wife said oh my god what is that? There were three huge diamond shaped lights in the sky that were fire orange. They had two smaller white lights flanking the side. They suddenly changed formation and disappeared. They were 10x the size of commercial jets landing at Sky Harbor which we have a view of. Oddly enough, my office is by the Scottsdale Airport and there were many (f18’s – not exactly sure) on the tarmac all week, which is odd because there are very few military planes there ever (I have worked close to that airport for over 20 years and have only seen military aircraft for air-shows.) January 15, 2017 · 8:53 PM · FLASH

Phoenix, AZ

Brother was driving me to work. When approached 35th Ave Bell on the west side noticed a light flashing on the sky. Almost like a plane except it wasnt moving. I told my brother look at that light up there can you see it moving? He said "no its just sitting there, its probably a star". Had to been like a minute in & then the light disappeared. Not even a second went by before it reappeared & was bigger & brighter than ever. It went from a speck of light blinking into a large flash & vanished. Was amazing!!!

January 10, 2017 · 3:45 AM · LIGHT

Sahaurita, AZ

From Quail Creek County Club in Sahaurita, AZ, looking north. At approximately 3:45 a.m. I observed a light in the NE sky that grew brighter and then was moving erratically. At first I thought it must be a helicopter but then 2 more lights appeared with alternating white and red lights. They moved around each other too closely and erratically to be helicopters. I observed for a long period of time, at least 20 minutes, and more lights appeared and then disappeared at various locations, moving erratically, around each other and then suddenly extremely fast. They were far to the east of the Tucson airport and no planes were landing or taking off at that time in the morning (I can see the planes arriving and departing from my location). They moved toward the east and the moving lights appeared and disappeared at various locations but always at least one visible until I observed one with a bright light that appeared to stand still then all of the sudden at least 4 others app! eared in a straight line to the east of it. Within seconds they lit up sequentially (like fire crackers) and then they were gone or at least there were no more lights.

Bright reddish light with darker red undulating 'aura' around it. It seemed to be moving upwards, getting smaller. It eventually began to fade and went out as if extinguished.

January 1, 2017 · 12:20 AM · FIREBALL

San Tan Valley, AZ

As I was watching fireworks last night I saw a bright red orb light fly then hover in the sky last night. At a distance it looked like a plane or helicopter. There are many planes as we are in the flight path of Mesa Gateway Airport. It flew from a far distance from the south then stopped and hovered above me. It was a bright red silent light and I could not see behind the light. It was hovering so close I went in to get my high powered flashlight to shine it to see what it was. Before I could shine, it took off west to the night sky almost as it had predicted I had a light. I presumed or was a drone but when it flew off it was much too high, too fast and flew too far away to be a home drone. An hour later I could hear fighter jets to the norteast. We also have plenty of them fly over so the sound is familiar.

Mesa, AZ

I was walking down 8th ave near the railroad tracks in downtown mesa, looked up and saw what i thought to be an approaching plane, but it remained motionless in the sky, slighlty gliding around about sundown, its body glimmering with light from a setting sun. It appeared to be hovering over interstate 87 on the pima reservation. I brought a police officer's attention to it who was nearby working an unrelated call, and after he saw it, told me it could be a balloon. The object vanished in clouds soon after.

Phoenix, AZ

I was outside watching the overcast in the sky early in the morning and remember thinking "the clouds are the perfect cover for them to observe us without us noticing." Not even a couple seconds later, I saw a dark, round object slightly lower from the clouds, and quickly shoot back into cover. My eyes were fixated in the spot where I saw movement, cause I thought it was a plane or something.. and a few moments later, a huge flash of light trailed across the sky in the opposite direction that the dark object moved in. The trail of light lasted for like two seconds and then completely disappeared. No sound whatsoever. The lights in the backyard were dimming in and out a little bit while all of this happened, but it was also storming that day, so it could have been from that as well.

I just saw 2-3 looked like stars, not a plane, in the west sky. The one top left "joined" the one bottom right. Top left one was orange/red, bottom right was white. Looked like a haze or object in the center, more like a haze Til I ran for my phone to take a picture they were gone Never saw anything like that in my life I've been seeing the large bright "star" in the SW when no other are visible but this tonight really shocked me I've never reported anything like this in my life It really was something I've never seen before I think military base to the west but not sure This was NOT a flare I'm still thinking about what I saw!

Tucson, AZ

Around 6pm, caught site of large bright white (sometimes yellow-gold) orb at top of Mt. Lemmon. Thought it must be a planet just rising over horizon of mountain, though it seemed too far north for a planet, and the sky was overcast so other stars were hazy but this was super bright and pulsing clearly (like a star on the horizon does). Then saw to right of object, probably several miles to the east along top of mountain, a faint small white light rheostat in slowly, then grow brighter, then rheostat to a deep ruby red, get really bright, then switch off suddenly as if a light switch turned it off. This happened multiple times in sequence of about 1-3 minutes apart. Occasional flashes of similar red light on the opposite side of the large white/yellow orb, like a light ‘echo’, not as ‘solid’ but there just the same. The phenomena was persisting so long, I drove up to Sabino Canyon for a closer look but the sky there was dark and couldn’t get as panoramic a view of the range. Nothing happening there. Around 8pm when I returned to original location of siting (farther from the range where you can get a broader view of entire top of Mt. Lemmon), there it was again, the bright orb, as if it hadn’t moved (and a planet would have moved in 2 hours)! My memory isn’t precise but for the next 5 minutes or so, what a light show! The bright white orb blinked out, then suddenly reappeared. Blinked out then reappeared. Then moved super-fast to the right about ¼ inch (viewed from several miles distant). Then blinked out. Then reappeared. There was almost a dance between this larger light and the smaller red lights. A lot of movement, blinking in and out. It is hard to recall details but all I could think was “this ain’t no planet”. There are radio signal towers on Mt Lemon but they pulse and stay turned on all the time, and they are in a different location from where I saw the red lights. These smaller red lights were shutting off completely, then phasing back in first as white lights, then as ruby red lights. Then blinking off instantaneously. The last thing I saw was the white orb rheostat to a beautiful golden yellow, 2x or even 3x its original size and then it looked like it split in half and then it simply disappeared, along with the red lights. Poof. Gone. The overriding perception I got was that there was some kind of transdimensional shape shifting happening. I wonder if anybody else saw this in Tucson. It was mind blowing.

Anthem, AZ

2 sets of 3 + 1 bright orange lights in the shape of a round sphere. They were all in a line. First, 3, then 3 more, then 1. The sets of 3 were anywhere from 1/2 mile to 1 mile in separation all traveling in the same line. The second set of three were about 3 miles behind the first set. The last 1 also followed the same line but was farther behind the rest approximately 4 miles. All were silent. They came out of the south east from the Scottsdale, Arizona area. When approaching Anthem, Arizona, they made a turn on the eastern side of Anthem and turned to the north east. After making an arcing turn. Once on the north east heading the bright lights dimmed and vanished into thin air. There is a flight path for the airlines that looks to pass over New River, Arizona, which is just north of Anthem, on their way to Sky Harbor air port. The flight path also makes an arc turn as they pass over New River and brings them out on the western side of Anthem, then on to Sky Harbor. These orange lights looked as though they were on parallel flight path to the air lines, with a separation of about 2 to 3 miles.

Tucson, AZ

While a passenger in our car heading south in Tucson, Arizona, I glanced out the window and saw approximately ten large bright round reddish-orange lights flying in formation in the western sky. They formed two parallel but slightly “zigzag” rows: the first few lights forming a straight east to west line with the rest of the line continuing slightly farther back; the second row of lights created an identical row behind it, each light being equidistant from the one in front of and beside it. The first thing I did was lower the car window to rule out reflections on the glass. I could make out no forms nor sound of aircraft and these lights were solid, not blinking as normally seen on aircraft. They were not individual lights on a larger craft as I could make out faint clouds in the sky behind and between them. I watched them move Northward across the sky until I couldn't careen my neck any farther out the car window to see them. They maintained the same formation the entire time, and did not “fade out” as flares would. I waited to file a report until I had a chance to: 1) drive down the same stretch of road again, at the same time of day, to see if there were any extremely high light poles or radio towers, etc., that could have accounted for the lights and; 2) contact the local Air Force base to confirm whether they had conducted any drills, flare releases, or other such maneuvers that night. The answer was no on both counts.

Sun City West, AZ

Escorting guests to their Golf Cart after an evening of Bridge. Hovering silently overhead a couple of thousand ft up was an orange colored flaming appearing ball. At first we thought we were looking at a Hot Air Balloon that was constantly firing and lighting up. Got some good bino's from house but could discern no definition on the object's shape. After a few n minutes the object ascended rapidly to the SW and disappeared. Witness's include a retired Airline Naval/Airline pilot. a senior retired USAF officer, both males, and a retired athletic teacher.
