I took my dogs out @ 5:15 am 2/05/2015. I saw a huge bright light in the sky, just hovering in the direction of Columbia, Illinois. After about 3 or 4 minutes it came towards me. As I looked up at it when it flew over me going west it was shaped like the Columbia space shuttle the bottom was all white lights and there were green and blue lights on the back end of the craft. I could hear the roar of the engine, as it was loud like the space shuttles would be. It was flying low enough that I could make out the shape and see all the lights on the bottom of the craft. I wish I had taken my camera outside I will tomorrow.

I saw a low flying object coming towards me with sunlight glaring off of it when I was driving on 95th St today at 4:42PM. I got stopped by a traffic red light and all the sudden the Oak Park Ave (Green Street Sign) was blocking my view of that low object flying. The traffic light then turned green 10-15 seconds later I continued to drive again so that street sign wouldn't be blocking my view anymore and it wasn't there anymore when it definitely should of still have been there to even see it twice as better. I got out of Wendy's Drive thru at 4:52PM and I ordered a Son of Bacconattor. A visible satellite I also saw did the same sorta thing in the area but was way higher in the sky and was way smaller flying at 4:57PM when I driving towards Kean Ave on 95th St. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. Me and 3 friends were exiting an apartment, and all of a sudden a quiet boom echoed over head. Over us came a huge burst of light. It looked like a meteor, however it was covered in blue-yellow flames. It flew overhead for near 5 seconds, then disappeared over the horizon.

Our location is 8 miles northwest of Goreville, Illinois. At 2am, my mother saw a bright light due east of us. Jupiter had already passed over the house. Object grew larger - bright light the diameter of a dime at arm's length. It was flashing at a rate of 3 times per second. Witness states is was the same color as Jupiter. As it approached, it seemed to have a smaller bright sphere on its leading edge. Object moved from East rising overhead to the south, where it was no longer visible. Witness is retired English teacher, holding a masters. Writer is Managing Editor for an Internet publication.

I saw a non blinking whitish orange light fly by very fast, moving across the clear sky past the very end of handle of the big dipper. If you focus your eyes really hard you could barely see a very tiny red light blink every five seconds. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

I tried to call about an hour ago to report this and I got an answering machine so I hung up. I saw this at 5:45AM. I went to move my car out of the driveway so my dad can get out of the driveway with his car so he can go to work. He left and I moved my car back in the driveway. I got out of my car that was parked in front of the front door of the house and I looked at the sky and I saw 2 bright lights close to each other that look like identical stars. I was looking at them for about 10 seconds. I knew I saw this happen to me before I walked fast in my house with snowy boots on to get my Windows phone so I could film it. I was walking fast back outside 12 seconds later with camera ready to film and I knew they would be both gone. I reported this before when there was the lunar eclipse a couple months ago. I am sorta in shock and a little worried knowing that it's back again. I think it won't be the last time I see it. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

I woke up late last night having fallen asleep on my couch while watching a movie. I awoke to the sound of my television and then turned it off while still lying on my couch. I sat there for a few minutes and darkness looking at my view of the Chicago skyline when a bright light caught my eye. My condominium is the flightpath of O'Hare airport and I've grown use to watching planes fly past my balcony on approach to O'Hare airport. I am also fairly close to the city's medical district and will occasionally see emergency response helicopters fly by my window as well. However, I've become very adept at identifying types of planes, their altitudes, and the speed in which they are flying. As the son of a military and commercial pilot, I've spent more than 45 years around airplanes. This object was flying far too low and moved more fluidly then any aircraft I've seen as it made an ark across the sky. Its lights flickered brightly, making and arcing tracer as it dissipated in the same manner as a signal flare. I walked over to my window looking for signs of a tail light and nothing was there.

Looking out a south facing window, I noticed 3 red to orange lights. They were pulsing the colors (not blinking). The sky was clouded. Within seconds of my seeing the lights, one of them disappeared. I believe it entered the cloud layer. I lost the other two as they continued to head north and past my line of vision. I checked out a north facing window, but did not see the lights again. Note – I am 12 miles west of O'Hare airport, and 1 mile from a small local airport. These lights were clearly not planes. I opened the window, and heard no sound. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) It was 1/10/15, sorry for the error. I've heard you talk about fire balls on C2C for sometime now, and I've read many of the reports online. It would seem to me that they would/should be making noise. Do people note that? I heard nothing and the speed of what I saw was way to slow in my mind for these to be falling rocks, etc.. In this case, I am leaning towards controlled objects, but I can now see how people would use the term 'fire ball' to describe them. ((END ADDENDUM))

Romeoville, IL
On January 10, 2015, at 3:00 am, in the southwest sky in the direction of Shorewood from Romeoville, there were two flashing lights. It almost looked as if they were rotating and the light got dimmer as it went to the back. One was slightly bigger than the other. It was a brighter white with red blinking underneath it. The other one was a bit smaller and was mostly a red flashing light. Both hovered together for about 10 minutes. It looked like they were flashing lights at each other. I am 100% sure they were not planes. Neither one ever came closer or seemed to fly in any direction. After about 15 minutes of my observation, the brighter one, on the left, slowly started to distance itself from the one on the right. It never got smaller (suggesting that it was not flying away), it just got further and further away. Then, it kind of went straight up and again drifted off in a southern direction. I took several pictures with my phone. The quality is not very good. After about 20 minutes, they were gone.

Through a telescope they were multi-colored lights, some saucer shaped some with triangular structures moving around a dark center like a gyroscope. The center of the hexagon looked like a dark oval object with fire or energy coming from it. It still may be visible in the night sky will take another look this evening. It was incredible. Woodson, IL
At approximately 7pm on January 9, 2015, I was traveling west bound on Woodson-Franklin Road towards Woodson, IL, returning to Jacksonville, IL. Temperature was around 10 degrees and sky was very clear and stars were very bright. As I passed the new water tower and I looked out the drive side window <to my left>. I noticed a Very bright orange sphere in the distance. The sphere was about 30 degrees above the ground to my left. I would feel comfortable stating the object was miles away at least. I kept glancing over at the object as I was approaching the last 2 corners on the road before the straight away into the Town of Woodson. I looked away from the object and had to watch the road since there was a oncoming vehicle coming around the first corner at Walsh Road. The road jogs north for about 1/4 to 1/2 mile, then turns back west into Woodson. As I came around the 2nd corner into the straight stretch to Woodson, I glanced over to the south again and saw the original object still approximately at the same location. However, I also saw a second object, much closer, and slightly lower, traveling east thru the empty corm field. I would put that object at 1/2 mile south of the roadway, approx. 150-200 feet off the ground. It was also a solid orange sphere. It was visibly moving East. When I first saw it It looked to 2/3rds of the way down the straight stretch towards Woodson from the corner I had just rounded. I was traveling at 55 mph to start and noticed it was moving east at a decent speed. I slowed down to about 30mph while watching it, and confirmed that it was moving east, and it passsed between my vehicle and the distant orange object. It was at a lower angle and closer to the ground than the distant one. I sped back up to 55, and entered Woodson, crossing the train tracks, and continuing to the highway towards Jacksonville. Just prior to leaving home, I was visiting and my vehicle was warming up. I had been looking at the sky looking for the new comet that would have been just past Orion's Belt. At that time, I did not see anything unusual in the sky or in the western sky. I am very familiar with star gazing, astronomy, and Chinese lanterns. I can confirm these were not meteors. These were not Iridium Flares. These were not the space station. I can confirm these were not lanterns. They were solid orange, no flickering, perfectly round. I did not take any pictures of the objects. Without a tripod and time exposure, or a very high ISO camera, it would have been moot to even attempt a photo.

At approximately 05:00 December 27, 2014, i was on my way home from taking my mother in law to work. Driving down the country road to get to my house, 55 miles per hour listening to the music. This kite shaped thing flies right in front of my SUV. It happened so fast I slammed on my brakes. Put my car in neutral and called my mother in law. She told me to back up and see what it was. I put my car in reverse and see it in the field to the right of me. It wasn't very far off the ground. It was shaped like a kite and had these very bright iridescent white blue lighting on the bottom and side. In a panic i drive off fast as i can! My mother in law insisted i call police. I refused cause i figured they'd think i was crazy. The next road to the right was my road to take home, driving very fast ans still on the phone with her i look over to the field on my right to see if it's still there and it's up in the air flying past me over the trees and out of sight in a matter of seconds. I began panicking! I hung up and tried to record but it was gone. I've never seen anything like it, was definitely indescribable, very scary to experience, left my hair standing on end. Never in my life had i seen a ufo. Nor do i ever want to again!! My husband and i intend to go to the field where i seen it after it flew in front of my car today whem daylight comes. I'm extremely shook up about this. Can someone tell me what i saw and is it harmful?

Naperville, IL
On December 1, 2014, at approximately 11:35 p.m., over Naperville, Il 60540. It was located in the eastern sky slightly above Jupiter’s position. My husband and I witnessed an extremely bright, white, blinking light that was far brighter than anything else in the sky. The object was stationary, and occasionally a second light would appear in close proximity to the first light and then disappear. The object was bright enough that it illuminated all the cloud cover. We used the Google Sky application, thinking it could be Jupiter and found that Jupiter was below. We were able to identify everything else Google Sky was showing us and this object was not among any identified objects. We continued to watch the object for ten minutes and then went back inside.

Gurnee, IL
At about 7:45pm CDT, leaving my niece’s home after a family Thanksgiving dinner in Gurnee, Illinois, as I reached my car parked on the street, I noticed two very bright yellow-orange lights in the sky. Not sure of their altitude, probably something between that of a low-flying plane but higher than a helicopter would fly, if that makes sense. The lights were in a horizontal configuration, one a good distance (maybe an inch at arm’s length) higher than the other, with the lower object slightly ahead of the other as they moved slowly from east to west. They weren’t big, maybe like BBs, but very bright. I was standing northwest of them, and they could have been a couple miles or so south of my position. Though two very distinct lights, they moved in tandem and seemed in fixed positions in relation to each other, as though connected. I didn’t see anything connecting them, nor any stars between them, but the night sky was overcast and not many stars were visible. No sound, but at that distance, unless they were jets or helicopters, I probably wouldn’t have heard any engine noise. Must admit, I’m fascinated by UFOs, but have never seen one before. However, I know enough to look for the green and red lights required for aircraft, and there was no other color in these objects except for the very bright yellow-orange color, like polished gold. As they moved west, each of the orbs seemed to have some shadow on its rear side, so they looked almost like tightly curled commas. Traveling a little farther west, the top light looked like it had a separate, smaller light following immediately behind it, possibly part of it. The color was so bright and so consistent otherwise that they looked like shiny metal structures. But whatever light they had must have come from them because there is nothing in the area to illuminate them at that height, and the crescent moon was behind them. My first thought was, “Darn, I don’t have my camera with me.” Then my niece came out of the house to bring me something I’d left behind, and we both stood there for a couple minutes watching these lights and trying to figure out what they possibly could be. She is not at all interested in UFOs, and probably thought I was little nuts being so fixated on these objects. The closest familiar object they resembled would be Chinese lanterns, but the bright color was stable, not flickering. Flares? They moved together at a level altitude straight west and I assume flares might drop or lose altitude. They didn’t have a “fuzzy” glow, even in the overcast, but were bright, hard lights. I watched these for approximately five minutes, and they moved slowly but at a perfectly steady rate across the sky, covering a distance of about eight inches at arm’s length. Then they disappeared without changing shape or size, without falling to the ground or anything. They just went out. My location would be about 30 miles north of O’Hare Airport, and the lights I saw would have been coming from Lake Michigan, possibly 10-15 miles east of O’Hare. And again, they didn’t have the FFA lights, nor anything resembling the configuration of lights that I’ve ever seen on commercial aircraft. There’s a smaller airport, Waukegan Regional Airport, about 10 miles north of Gurnee, but the lights were heading west, not north. I drove by Waukegan Airport a few minutes later, and don’t think it was even open. Have no idea what they were. Just very curious.
