My friend and I were night fishing for walleye on Fontana Lake. The moon was almost full, which allowed us to see very clearly even though it was 1 am. As we trolled the bank, we noticed a glowing ball traveling parallel over the mountain top. The object moved slowly at a steady pace. After watching it for about 10 minutes, we decided to try and get video. As my friend was preparing his camera, the object disappeared, as if the light just “went out”. As soon as the camera was up and running, it reappeared, along the same path and direction it had been traveling. We got about 10-20 seconds of the object, at which point it disappeared for the last time. We never saw it again. Traveling home from Chapel Hill, NC, last night (April 12, 2017, at about 8pm) towards Monroe, NC (driving southwest), I observed a very intensely bright light ball moving extremely fast across the sky near Asheboro, NC, but in the rural part of Randolph County. This was obviously not a plane or helicopter because of the lack of signal lights and the absolutely incredible speed. My first thought, after ruling out planes and helicopters, was perhaps that I saw a *huge* meteor; but, the object was different enough that I couldn't rationalize a meteor. For example, it did not appear to travel like meteors I have seen in the past which appear high up in the atmosphere and quickly burn out. In terms of assessing the possibility of larger, lower flying meteors, the object did not have the characteristic "burn trail" or "tail" that a low burning meteor typically has (at least in my experience of seeing photos of low meteors). This object was clearly moving horizontally across the sky at what appeared to be a constant altitude with no trail. The object was an intense blue/white light ball, and it appeared to have a very slight haze near it, but this "haze" could have been an optical illusion, given the brightness of the object and the speed with which it moved. Any "haze" that was present was no larger dimension than the diameter of the light ball, so it did not seem to fit with a meteor trail. I first saw the light ball when it was just about the center of my windshield as I was driving. It moved to my left, traveling southeast, and across the sky to the horizon or tree line in an elapsed time of only about 3-4 seconds. So, this light ball was clearly moving at an incredible speed whether low in the sky or higher than I suspected. I estimate it to have been lower than 500 feet, but that is clearly only an estimate, as I have no way of knowing its true size or altitude. Again, unlike a meteor, the object did not burn out - it simply moved out of my sight at great speed. Regardless of what it was, it was a fascinating experience. This is the second time in the past 2 years that I have seen a fast moving object in the general area of central NC, once it the daytime (a "craft" of sorts previously reported here) and this bright, nighttime ball of light. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Dear Mr. Davenport, In response to your questions (my answers are given in brackets): As you faced the object, what was the approximate direction you were looking [I was on the road, so I only know the general cardinal direction, assuming a line between Chapel Hill and Monroe, NC. I did not think to look at my car direction indicator, so the best I can say here is that I was driving Southwest and generally looking in that direction. Unfortunately, given the nature of winding roads in the rural counties, I cannot confirm the absolute direction of my vision] ..and the angle of elevation above the horizontal plane [I had to move a bit to see it past my visor in the car, so it was up past 30 degrees for sure, but it was not by any means 90 degrees from the horizontal. My best estimate would be about 45-55 degrees from horizontal line of sight] ...Was the object in the northern sky, or the southern sky, from your vantage point, [Southern] ..and was it traveling from your left to right side, or right to left? [the latter, right to left] Sorry I can't be more exact with some of these questions. The entire event took me by complete surprise. I am pleased to know that others reported this event. I would love to know what you find out about the light, if indeed you are able to identify it. Is there a means by which I can stay abreast of any updates? Would you publish any such findings? It had been the fifth time this type of UFO has come to our area, which is our back yard. The difference has been its size and distance to My home. Every appearance, has drawn it closer and larger than the last one. The first sighting was on 30 December 2016 @ 2300 hours. It appeared and traveled down the street and above My neighbor's house across the street, then it came over mine. It was so close I could have hit it with a baseball easily. The neighbor in questioned moved from the fear of the incident. This first one was saucer shape, reddish/orange, pulsating as it revolted, silently, eventually speeding incredibly fast over head and east off of Hwy 87. The next two were on 26 January and 8 February, 2017. These two were very similar in size, though larger than the first on 30 December 2016. The one on 26 January 2017 appeared at 2145 hours, with three major reddish/orange lights equal distant apart, with a diamond like object trailing it behind and below the craft. It diamond shape figure eventually joint the major part of the craft from underneath, then flow away as it traverse the trees at a distance. The next one, on 8 February was huge, yet silent as well. It didn't create no sound or disturbance of the atmosphere. It remained steady state for approximately 45 minutes, if not more, because I was lost in its beauty. This one too hard the three reddish/orange glow of lights, equally distant from each other and a trailing diamond shaped object. The only difference with this observation was that the craft was larger than the last and the diamond shaped object moved more distal from the main object and freely over the neighboring homes and streets and tree lines. The observation was the 11 April 2017, and without a doubt, the largest ever observed, and not just by Me, but by My entire family. I've waited a long time to be vindicated by this current sighting, because all the others were seen by Me and when reported to My family, it was received rather unappreciated. Then this sighting! occurre d and I was vindicated. Like I said this one was the largest of them all, were every detail could be observed by everyone. It too had the three reddish/orange lights equally distant, the bottom base could be seen perfectly, which demonstrated were the diamond shaped craft would descend from and the full range of what else there was underneath the UFO. The bottom part, as I said, had the diamond shaped craft, along with what appeared to be a silvery bracket holding it in place, with some lighting as well. You could see the way the edges of the UFO curved upward, all the way around. The top seemed like a shimmering light blue glow about it. Once again, it was silent, and I expected some sound, considering the size of this UFO. The size, without question, had two be 3 and half times the size of My house, because as it traveled over it. It had extend equally on both ends, which would make it over 3 times 76 feet in diameter, since My home is 76 feet long. Making it more than 275 feet in diameter. The only thing I question id why now? Why these recent visits to My area, and almost the exact same area. Truth be told, since moving out to this area in 2005, I've since UFOs land near by, even to the extent of leaving circles in My back yard. Some time floating between My property and My neighbors, but never this large or this close. There must be something going on around here, if not with Me, since I've had several experiences in My entire life with these things, and for generations apparently. I took my dog out after I got home at 22:30 pm. I looked up and a saw 3 red lights moving at a consistent speed. It seemed faster than a normal passenger airplane, but slow enough to where I could capture a photo of the object. It made no sound. There were 3 lights were in row, kind of saucer shaped, the middle light was slightly higher and it circled my house once. They were all red lights, except for the light in front would blink. It was pretty big, probably atleast the size of a football field in the sky. Soon after my fiancé came home and saw the lights as well. He couldn't explain it. He initially thought military. Then after it circled my house, another 2 Red lights appeared to come from behind the trees and travelled under the larger object. This object seemed really long as there were only 2 lights, it seemed just a bit smaller than the larger object with the 3 red lights. Afterwards the object with the 2 red lights travelled under the bigger one! and they travelled behind my house and then disappeared behind the trees. This whole time my dog seemed confused and more excited than normal.

2 people, looking at the moon from their deck, witnessed triangular formation of 3 round, flashing, red lights moving left, East to Southeast in the sky. The lights slowly shifted from an isosceles triangle formation, to scalene triangle, then a straight line following each other. All lights were blinking/flashing at differing times. Attempted to photograph and record. However the formation did not show up in any of the pictures or videos. Lights moved out of witnesses' view after 1 minute. Saw a large black craft floating sideways across the sky approximately 800-1000ft up. No lights and no sound from the craft, the sides were like a matte grey, and the middle was solid black. Never seen anything like this before in my life.

Looked like a round orb yellowish in color. Fist noticed in northern part of sky. Fist caught my attention when it moved side to side then stopped. Then disappeared and re appeared again. the totally disappeared when I zoomed in on it like it knew I was wanting a closer look. never seen again. Have it on my camcorder right as it was zoomed in on and when it disappeared. No clouds and there was a clear sky.

After doing this for 20 minutes or so it moved quickly above us. You could see lights inside but no noise and then it sped off and was just gone. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Peter, It looked to be 1/10th the size of the moon. It was oval in shape. Not perfectly round though if that makes sense. Because of its side to side movements and being stationary for minutes, I that it might be a helicopter. I was in the Army and was Air-Assault, so I have sling loaded and have ridden in many helicopters, so I soon realized that's not what it was. It was about 6000 feet in the air at first and it took off over our home and slowed to almost a full stop. It was higher in elevation as it went above my home but you could see the outline. It was kinda round and you could see a light around it coming from the inside. Like a revolving lit restaurant looking from outside of it. It actually started scaring me when I realized it had no sound coming from it. It moved slow but then quickly. Faster than a plane can fly. The lights were a smoky white light coming from inside. You could just see a hazy light at farther distance. Clear when it was close. There were no flashing lights on it. I hope this helps as this was the first time seeing something like this. I was home with my mother and my daughter, everything was fine, until my mother and I went outside to take the dog out and heard something in the woods. I live in a very wooded area but it's right off of a main highway. We both heard something that sounded like 2-3 deer running but in the area that the sound came from has a very large fenced area so I don't see how this is possible.... Afterwards we both just thought that we must had misjudged the position of the sound and laughed it off. Well my front porch has more light then the back so being that we don't smoke in the house and after hearing what we both heard we had gone to the front porch to have a smoke. We both had sat down on the front porch and we love looking at the stars, and we both had seen the same thing... To the left of the tree line there was a very bright 3 sided shape in the sky??? It was bright enough that I had gotten up and turned the front porch light off so we could see it better. A few minutes passed and the object then started to move very slowly, we both had thought that this was just our eyes playing tricks on us, but then it started to get brighter and moved in a way the NO plane I have ever seen moved!!!!. We both continued to watch this object in the sky for over 30 minutes. I actually got my phone out to record the thing and it wasn't there!!!! At this time I'm starting to feel stupid or crazy and them my mother grabs my hand and says" look up" I looked up and I can not even began to explain the fear!!!! There were 3 of the same size objects over the front of my house!!!! Now they were not close enough to us that I felt like we were under attack but they were still there, and the original object was still not in sight. At this point I'm getting ready to put my mother and my daughter in the car and go anywhere but here!!!!! My mother stopped me from going in the house and points to the spot were the first object had appeared, and there it was!!!! Now there are 4 objects in the sky and I can believe what I'm seeing, we both watched the sky for over 2-3 hours and the objects got brighter and moved and then would just disappear, but the first object was the only one that moved in such a way that I still can't believe!!!! I have watched the x files loved the show, but this is the craziest thing I have ever seen!!!! I went outside tonight just to look and there is nothing in the sky were I had seen the first object and it just doesn't make sense!!!! I don't what to sound crazy but damn!!!!! I hope that someone else out there has seen this, too.

Unidentified object spotted driving East on I-26 just south of Asheville, NC. Object appeared to be moving at the speed of a large low flying plane and was cigar shaped. I was traveling near the Asheville airport, so I thought it was only a low flying plane at a distance of approximately 3 miles; however it seemed rather odd shaped for a plane so I continued to glance up at the object while driving. The last time I looked up at the object it appeared to take a sharp turn south and gave off a bright silver flash of light and disappeared. It was bright enough that it made me close my eyes for just a split second, then look back only to find the object no where in sight. I watched the area that the flash came from for about 30 second, thinking I would see the object flying off. The object had disappeared.

Three red lights. The length of several football fields or more! Two on both ends and one in the center. Made no noise what-so-ever. Was very eerie to witness. Saw from the back yard. Wife watched it also. It was being followed by what looked like an airplane as lights flashed red and white from the object in pursuit of it. Other aircraft were flying where it had to be noticed (in front and across the sky). The craft had to be humongous. And there had to be other witnesses. No way did that "thing" get by just us seeing it! Anyone driving down highway 421 or the backroads had to glimpse it gliding by.

Sighting of 2 UFO(s) Saturday March 18, 2017, at 8:18 til 8:23pm. Two (2) flighter jets military planes flying in formation seems to be chasing object. The blinking ufo on the left was traving towards the ufo light that was blinking around, the light blinking was moving left, to right Around 8:23pm, lights wasn't blinking as airplanes do so. etc.. Shooting star 8:48pm over Pinebluff, North Carolina, 28373: Aberdeen, North Carolina 28315 Another sighting tonight. See compass. The ufo had blinking lights... Off and on 30 seconds, pausing light two planes traveling pass it at or around 8:36pm.

Super bright blue light traversed across country road at approximately 60 feet above road. As I was driving, my vehicle completely shut off. Radio shut off, as well. The entire incident took less than 1 minute, but once the light entered the wood line to the right of the road, it disappeared, or instantly was no longer visible. The height of the trees in entered were approximately 65 feet and were dense in number. The light had no sound and wasn't flashing or sparkling. It was constant and extremely bright. As suddenly as it disappeared, my vehicle started up and the radio and headlights resumed. Nothing was reported in any local news and I am unaware of anyone else who witnessed this event.

This is the first time in my life that I've reported a sky-borne object sighting. Because it was in the western sky, some people will think "oh, Venus" - fine. I'm not an astronomer, but I've spent many a starry, planety night gazing at this sky from my hot tub, and have never seen anything like this. Tonight I had just stepped out onto my back deck, and this brilliant "fire in the sky" caught my eye, so I paused to watch it. It was higher than local planes fly, but seemingly lower than the cruising altitude of a international jet. It was moving slowly in the way that satellites do ... I always have fun looking for satellites in the sky because they're more-common to spot than shooting stars. But this was lower than a satellite. It was BRIGHT ... so bright that it almost hurt my eyes to look directly at it, but it was so fascinating that I made myself look anyway. The color of the object itself was yellow-orange, nearly exactly like fire, but the light coming from it towards the earth was a white light, which did not seem to be "panning" or searching ... it just seemed to be emanating. There was no flickering or blinking. In addition, there were a few shafts of brilliant blue-green light coming from behind it as the object slowly travelled toward me (from west to east). These almost neon blue-green rays were nearly obscured by the bright orange body of the object itself, but were colore! d so intensely that if you stared at it, you could clearly see them. If one were to speculate, one might think that they would appear as they did if they were part of a propulsion system. The object made no sound. It was fairly high in the sky, at about 65 degrees. Its path of direction was not constant, as a standard satellite's would be. It slowly tracked closer to my home (a rural area, with few houses), then it seemed to stabilize its location. I went inside to do some internet searching of such phenomena, looked out the window about 10 minutes later and it seemed a bit further away to the west, and about a half hour after my initial sighting, I looked, and it was gone. (And at that time, I also noted Venus in the sky, looking much further-away and much like a planet, like it always does.) I am not so informed as to discount the possibility of extra-terrestrial visitors, but it seems much more likely to me that such an object could be military / government in origin. There are military bases within 50-100 miles to the south and east of me.
