As reported

Unknown over South Brunswick Township, NJ

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

My mother and I woke up at 6:30 AM and stepped outside. I looked up at the sky to get an idea of the weather. It was perfectly clear and the sun was just barely risen. To the north travelling westward I noticed a small point of light moving too slowly to be a plane and also either too high or too small. I pointed it out to my mother and she noted that also there was no sound. I checked air traffic maps, satellite trackers, and even the position of the International Space Station. None were nearby at the time of sighting.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #179374). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
