The report, as filed
I was driving and saw several people looking up and so I quickly looked up. I saw an object that was long and round like a jelly bean with a head that had what looked like a square box on the front . The object was not moving and hoavered above. There weren’t any windows in the craft And it resembled a submarine. There wasn’t any sound. It was totally quiet. I pulled over to see if I could get a photo. By the time I was able to find a parking spot , the craft began to move to the east- NE. Then it quickly vanished. I wasn’t able to snap a photo.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #171675). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

I was stargazing in my back yard because it was a very clear night. I had turned off all the house lights and the stars were beautiful. I saw what I thought was a plane, with red and green lights. It suddenly completely changed direction. I thought then it must be a drone. Then it appeared to go straight up, and disappeared.

Libertyville, IL
It was about 9:30 at night, driving home from dinner. A strong thick beam of light, not instantly but took about 5 seconds to “fall,” came down and a large portion of the sky around it turned green. This stayed this way for about 20 seconds, and then the beam went up and the sky went black again… I need answers.
