Fireball over Thunder Bay, ON · Canada

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Was in my back yard noticed two bright orange lights to the Northwest moving up and down independently of each other. They were moving up and down from 40 degrees to 70 degrees off the horizen. They did this for about a minute then traveled to the southwest one at a time fast and flickered out. Once one flickered out another one apered where the fist two were spotted moved in the same way and traveled to the same spot and flickered out. A total of 8 of these objects did the same thing. There was no noise, but they seemed close they were large. I would say 8 times bigger than mars on its brightest and biggest night. I though maybe a flair at fist but the way they moved could not have been a flair but the way they flickered out would be comparable to the way a flair burns out. There was 5 witnesses and I have a short video of them moving up and down to the northwest.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #168209). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

Canadian military and radar records answer to the Access to Information Act; historic UFO files are held by Library and Archives Canada. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
