A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
We were inside our house last night and all the sudden all the power went out. It was 11:00 pm, my son and I went outside as our dog was barking. We went outside and noticed there was no power or lights on our city as far as we could see. We were looking up at a totally clear sky and noticed lots and lots of clusters of white moving objects high in the sky that were flickering, they were all moving from east to west. As we were staring at these objects a gigantic white flash went across the sky to as far as the eye could see, we were a little scared. Then the sky became cloudy. Then clouds went away and more of the objects were continuing to move east to west. We didn’t get our power back til this morning around 6:00 am and DTE still has no explanation why power went out.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #168333). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
