A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
*Had been walking in the opposite direction on 54th street, but were facing the East when we witnessed the object Description of object: pink/orange light, which we had mistook at first for a car headlight. The light grew in size quickly (less than a second) froze in place and expelled a black form in a slithering manner. The whole object looked to be quite large, over the size of a large truck. As soon as it made these motions, it froze in place and disappeared. *no noise *the experience was very short *we were est. 100 yards away
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #159501). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
