The report, as filed

I’d just finished a walk around the Pompano Beach Airpark Bike Trail. The grounds encompass ±1,000 acres and include a public airport (PMP), Goodyear Blimp operations center, horse stables, outdoor shopping mall, municipal golf course and dog park. My vehicle was parked in the public parking lot located at the southeast corner of the property, approximately 25-feet from a chain link fence that denotes the border of the airport grounds. I frequently park in that lot and have become accustomed to seeing aircraft take off from runways 28 and 33. The confluence of the runways is ±1,000-feet west of the fence line at that location. Airplanes that take off from runway 28 fly directly over the parking lot at a very low altitude. The weather was clear and visibility was excellent. I had my (prescription) sunglasses on and was monitoring some thunderclouds that were forming off in the distance, to the west/northwest. I was sitting on the tailgate of my truck, facing the airport. I’d just removed my shoes and was looking down at my feet when I heard an airplane making its way down the runway. I looked up to see a small prop plane that had just taken off from runway 33. It was headed south/southeast, moving right to left, and was ±50-feet off the ground when I focused in on it. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed an object at a higher altitude that was moving left to right, in the opposite direction of (i.e. towards) the airplane. From my vantage point, the object appeared to pass directly over the airplane. I thought to myself “the pilot must have seen that.” Because the object was much smaller than the airplane, I assumed that it was a helium filled party balloon. I looked away and thought how dangerous it was for something like that to be floating in the airspace of the airport. Immediately, something didn’t sit right with me. I looked back, relocated and started tracking the object. I watched it very closely for ±5 seconds until it was out of my view. It definitely wasn’t an airplane, helicopter, balloon or any kind of drone that I’ve ever seen. I don’t know what it was. It stuck out like a sore thumb, thanks in part to the contrast provided by the backdrop of the thunderclouds that were forming in the distance, but more so in the way that it moved. It moved effortlessly and never varied in speed or altitude. It was as if the object was gliding on an invisible track or rail. Most curiously, it seemed to be tumbling, every which way. Nonetheless, its trajectory was in a perfectly straight line and it was moving much faster than the plane. It was surreal. The shape of the object has proven difficult to describe. It had no discernible points, edges or sharp angels. Rather, everything was rounded and smooth. It was slightly oblong, kind of like if you squished a football from end to end. - It was the size of a large trash can or 55-gallon drum; - It was flying at an altitude 2 to 3 times higher than the airplane; - It was moving 3 to 4 times faster than the airplane; - It was solid black and not reflective; - It didn’t have any windows, doors, seams or markings; - It didn’t have any lights or make any sound; - It didn’t have any props or rotors. Although there were other cars in the parking lot, no one else was around. Presumably, they were out on the trail. There may have been people on the golf course who saw it, as it flew right over it and out of my view. I pulled out of the parking lot at ±7:15 PM.

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. This one was subtle, most people would not have noticed anything strange. It is simply a stationary illuminated object. I was on the balcony of my 27th floor condo (on the beach), which looks to the west, where I often enjoy a sunset. One evening, I observed a stationary light to the SW, making it unusual for the busy airspace. Would have said it's a helicopter, except there was no noise. While sitting on the balcony, helicopters can often be heard at a range up to 5 miles. Made a brief video with my iPhone 12 to look at later. Then forgot about it, until a week or two ago; I went to clear out my iCloud storage of old videos and photos. Took another look at it, and after zooming in, it became apparent it was not an approaching aircraft landing light. It showed a polyhedral shape to it, and seemed to show an opal like color that shifted and pulsed, but remained stationary. After enlarging, there were no apparent red or green aviation position lights. The camera seemed to retain approximate focus with the contrail remnant in the far background. I would estimate the light/UAP was maybe 3 or 4 miles east of the KFXE Fort Lauderdale Executive airport, the light being approximately 3 miles away to the South West from my position, and FXE being 6 miles away to the WSW. My ballpark estimate on the altitude would be about 2500 ft, which would be very unusual for known aircraft...the airspace boundary between FXE tower and Miami Approach/Departure is right at 2400AGL... as I have often flown out of FXE on IFR flight plans, I know that they do not assign aircraft that boundary altitude...it would create confusion as to which controller had that target. While aircraft often climb or descend through that altitude, they would not appear stationary. I did not call FXE tower, as I noted nothing unusual until some 20 months later. (Didn't bother to look at the video in detail for some time.). I am a retired Navy CDR (O-5), an ATP rated pilot with + 17,000 hours in some 60 types of aircraft. I am a retired major airline pilot, and have flown scheduled passenger service out of FXE airport. I also keep my twin engine Piper Seneca nearby and often fly in this airspace. This is my 4th observation of something strange, that I could not explain. I am also a former Field Investigator for MUFON (FL). I tried to upload the original format, but when exporting a video, Apple changes the format. If the upload isn't a full resolution view of the original video, please have someone contact me for a better way to upload. Would also appreciate someone with better video exam/enhancement skills to shed light on what this object may have been. To me, without any other explanation, this remains a simple UAP. My sources at MUFON tell me there were two other reports of "Orbs" within 24 hours of this sighting in other locations in SE Florida.

The object was a large steel colored triangle with circles at the very tips of the two corners. There was a line down each side appearing engraved. There was glaring bright light flames coming from around it almost blinding. I was sitting on my ninth floor balcony on the ocean when it approached. After about seven seconds or so it left and went across the ocean having one blinking red light behind it. The glaring bright lights were no longer on. I watched until it was out of sight moments later. It appeared to either go into the ocean or just disappeared. I questioned a few residents at the pool the morning to see if anyone else saw it but nobody did. I informed friends and family up north via text and telephone communication. I drafted an informal drawing of what I saw even though I’ll never forget it. I’m a seasonal resident in Florida and a Rhode Island resident. I’m 69 years old and a practicing attorney in Massachusetts.

There was a lightning flash in the sky but as the lightning went away a ball of light remained in the sky for about one minute. Another lightning flash came by and right after it stopped the ball of light disappeared as well.

Female HR Manager Male Military....possibly 3 or 4 different objects 1 large grey rectangle shape...2nd much smaller and all we could see was a bright star shape. This one kept going around the others very quickly...another one with a white tower in the middle. One time this object was by itself then another the small star like object right next to it. The other we just don't know. They all stayed in the same vicinity for more than an hour.
