Changing over Hardin, MO
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
At 20:30, 20 min after sunset, I noticed something moving in the northern skies, got my Nikon camera, with 40x optical zoom and zoomed in to see what looked like dark balloons moving from north to south toward the town Richmond. After about 2 minutes, it changed shapes several times as it approached some power lines in the west of my location, about 3 miles away, and appeared to attach something onto the lines and moved on down a hill alongside of the electric lines out of view. I'm a retired locomotive engineer with many hours of observing the skies.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #156415). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
