Other over Butte Falls, OR

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Large stationary light. Largest light in the sky with a fog like glow around it like a car headlight. No other stars had any foggy glow. No clouds. Northeast from Butte F alls. To the right of the stationary light was a streak of light i thought was a shooting star. The streak dissapeared and reappeared numerous times and i could see lights in the streak moving upwards. They appeared vertically and horizontally, like a half cross. The streaks got really bright then dissapeared immediately like a light switch. The stationary light dimmed and brightened then dimmed out completely but i still saw the glowing fog for another 5 minutes before it was gone.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #155680). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
