As reported

Unspecified over Wetaskiwin (Canada), AB · Canada

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

We were travelling southbound on highway 2 just north of wetaskiwin and saw a bright white light pointed at us in the sky. As we travelled it did not seem to move towards us as we thought a plane might. It had one bright light pointed at us which also seemed odd for a plane (though it was late and dark). As we travelled further it was clear the object was not moving and we drove by the object as it stayed still in the sky. Looking at the object from the rear view window it still had not moved after we had drove by. We could no longer see the white light, but instead two flashing red lights on opposite sides and two small solid (not flashing) white lights on opposite sides in somewhat of a square pattern of lights. All passengers in the vehicle assessed the object as we drove and agreed it did not move. We described it like a “plane sized drone not moving”. Matches the description of an earlier December sighting in wetaskiwin.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #151959). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

Canadian military and radar records answer to the Access to Information Act; historic UFO files are held by Library and Archives Canada. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
