The report, as filed
Around 11:45 PM where Mounts Mills Road connects to Spotswood Englishtown Road, I saw a dull teal-greenish light in the sky. It was about the size of a light on a radio tower from that distance, but green. It proceeded to get a little brighter, again like a radio tower light. It got just a little brighter and grew larger than that would have gotten, and then SHOT off across the horizon after about 4 seconds. As it shot over the horizon, a trail of light followed it. It happened so quickly that I was unable to record it Sky was dark but clear,no clouds. Unobstructed view at a 4 way intersection in a relatively rural neighborhood.

I was cooking in the yard by my deck. We’re in a flight pattern for Newark international so I’m always looking up. This bright cigar cylinder shaped object caught my eye. Quickly grabbed my phone that on my belt and recorded this video. I can’t explain what it was. No noise from object but I did have music on. You can zoom in and see the object move from a 1 o’clock position to a 7 as it disappears into a cloud. [NUFORC annotation: Aircraft - Probable]

For the past two weeks, we have been seeing a slew of objects in the sky between 18:30 and 5:30, so mainly in the dark. For all we know they might be present during the day as well. They flash white and red, some only white and there are plenty of them. At first we thought they were planes however there are far too many in a congregated space to be commercial planes. Some move quickly while some stay stagnant. They get in groups together and fly quite low in comparison to airplanes. We have seen them lower and under 1000 feet high while airplanes have passed by. They also give off a droning sound.

Walking the dog while keeping an eye out for Perseid meteors. Spot 4 orange fireballs moving south to north. Steady orange glow, no noise. Appear to slow down, 3 fireballs form a triangle for about 10 seconds. All 4 move off to the northeast while a 5th craft appears from the south and follows them. They appear to be following the flight path towards Newark Airport, but are too close together for commercial aircraft and definitely did not maneuver like airplanes.
