Le 08 octobre 2019 au petit matin, un témoin en voiture observe un point très lumineux dans le ciel, dont l’intensité est plus forte de celle de Vénus. Il pense tout de suite à un gros débris tombant de son orbite. Cette description rejoint les nombreux témoignages (au moins 50) relatant le passage d’un bolide (rentrée dans l'atmosphère d'un météoroïde, petit corps rocheux) le 08 octobre 2019 à 05h20 TU (soit 07h20, heure locale française) visible en Occitanie, mais aussi en Nouvelle Aquitaine et répertorié par IMO (International Meteor Organization).
