Cylinder over Silsbee, TX
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
The group I was with consisted of myself and two others. All of which are of sound mental capacity and were ages 19, 19, and 18. The sky was clear with very sparse cloud cover. A local trainyard (BNSF) is nearby and it's lights are bright enough to dim stars in the area. At around 1:00 AM, while looking up at the sky, all 3 of us spotted a brief but mostly clear display of light in the sky, here are the key details; Dark colored cylindrical to rectangular body/"fuselage" with parallel blue lights on either side. The lights left a bright trail for approximately a half second. The UFO/UAP seemed to be traveling northwest. The lights and object appeared for about one second while moving southwest. The object appeared to be about 100 to 300 feet above ground. We were situated on the north bleachers and were attempting to observe stars. This is all I can remember but even after two years the sight is burned into my memory.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #166640). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
