Saw 2 red lights next to each other about 5 miles away. Paired lights would dim down then re-appear at a different location in height and left to right. This happened many times and the 2 lights (sometimes only one) were always at different locations in the sky appearing for maybe 7-10 seconds at a time. After a few hours of random locations, 5 pairs of lights lit up across the sky (perfectly synchronized on and off) for several seconds then they all faded out and I never saw them again for the rest of the night.
