Fireball over Atlantic Ocean (departed from Bayonne, NJ)), -

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I’m a passenger on a cruise vessel, which I won’t name, departing from Bayonne, NJ, and heading to Bermuda. At approximately 03:10, which could very well be 04:10, due to the one hour time difference, I was on my balcony, at which time I noticed a fluorescent green circular object penetrate the oceans depths and rise to cloud level. This object had what appeared to be amber yellow/orange flames around the object. The flames emulating the outer surface of a circular saw, and glistened as if burning. At first, I chalked it up to a military exercise, but wanted to inform you of what I noticed. I am still on the ship which reaches port at 08:30 on 07/24/2019. Thank you.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #147743). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
