Fireball over Kenneth City, FL

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

The sky was partly cloudy but not where the “burning orange/red circle” was at. We waited outside and stared in amazement at first for a few seconds while this light was flickering... it looked like it was fighting the clouds but there were none. I’ve seen several shooting stars in my day and they’ve only usually last about 20-30. seconds tops. We were outside watching this for at least 4-5 minutes. So long that even a smaller commercial aircraft flew past this burning light heading opposite way and dwarfed the burning light making it look like the burning light was way higher in the sky. There is an Air Force Base in Tampa so who knows. But i know whatever my son and daughter and myself saw, was pretty cool. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #147369). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
