As reported

Unknown over Vanore, TN

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I was in a very rural area of the rown of Vanore, TN. I was sleeping in my truck outside next to farmland. Very little light polution (Maybe 5%). Crystal clear night sky, April night. 55° Got out of my truck to evacuate, and looked up and immediated saw this huge vapor-trail from something moving at an insanely high rate of speed. It literally covered the entire sky in about 3 seconds. Huge plume left behind. Very quiet. No sound or lights. No glowing object. I could barely track the path with my head turning to follow it. It zipped acriss the sky THAT FAST! I could however actually see the plume cloud rolling in on itself as it expanded. It too was gone in a minute or two. I've seen shooting stars before, but this seemed much lower and closer to earth. I suppose it could have been a meteor etc...but I didn't see and light or steak of light towards the front. Perhaps I missed that part. All I saw waa the contrail or vapor trail it left behind. And it swelled VERY FAST and was churning very rapidly.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #146049). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
