Other over Dauphin Island, AL

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Walked out onto the deck of a vacation rental to look at what I thought might be a lighthouse. When out of the corner of my eye I saw between 6 maybe 7 shadows flying at a high rate of speed just off the shoreline maybe 50 ft above the water level. My 19-year-old son was looking out the window with his hands cupped against the glass to see if he could see the lighthouse saw the same thing. There was no sound nor any explanation that nether of us could come up with.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #145779). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
