As reported

Unknown over Chili, WI

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I pulled over on Y and noticed the blinking lights. It appeared that it could have been one object or 5 individual in sync objects. The blinking lights of the aircraft didn't appear to be synced but appeared to be a typical aircraft light. But then each aircraft showed a bright, yellowish light that stayed on for a couple of seconds. We then drove to H and turned west to see where they then shut off and the aircraft(s) then moved so fast....unGodly fast south of Hwy H. It appeared as though they flew multiple miles in a matter of seconds. They then we're out of our sight. This was my 4th sighting of something other than the typical aircraft, and it was my son's first. He was rather ecstatic to witness such a mysterious event. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #144885). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
