The report, as filed
Vehicle was seen flashing brilliantly at 35,000 feet proceeding in a southwestern direction. Vehicle then stopped and hovered for minutes. Vehicle then proceeded back northeast and hovered again changing shape somewhat but very high up. Vehicle was seen flashing brightly in full sunlight. It then just disappeared.

I observed what was believed to be a star and as soon as I started watching it it started moving southwest (over Lake Michigan). It wasn't really fast and appeared to "shuffle" left to right a little bit instead of flying in a straight line.

At first I thought it was a star, but then it started to move around in weird ways. I know that no aircraft could possibly maneuver. Then I saw a diamond shaped orange light pattern with four dots like it was giving off a signal. Few moments later in a straight diagonal line flashing lights really fast of of the colors red green orange blue and white. Then it went back to the orange diamond pattern for a few minutes then took off following that same pattern to the right then down then left and straight up out of sight. Possible sighting of Venus, or a "twinkling" star?? PD
