As reported

Unknown over Castella, CA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I'm a delivery driver and was headed northbound on I5 on my way to Medford, when I reached Castella, I pulled into the parking lot of the mini-mart Chevron to grab a drink. I parked in the back and when I got out of my truck, I noticed a quick flash of blue-white light shoot up out of the top of Castle Crags, which you can see from the gravel parking lot behind the mini-mart. It looked like a blurry falling star only in reverse shooting straight up out of the Crags and disappearing into the sky. It was probably about a half hour from first light. I drive this route routinely and have heard lots of people see strange things in this area as its only about 15 miles down the road from Mt. Shasta, but this was the first time I've ever seen anything like that myself. Believe it or not. -((name deleted)) Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #145853). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
