As reported

Unknown over Centerville, GA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

We were driving by the Centervile city hall and passed two lights next to each other. We assumed it was a cell tower but it started to have more lights and some even on the bottom. The bottom lights lit up the underside of the craft and it started to float away. We drove past the area in the morning, and a cell tower was not there, proving it was not a tower. It was an oval shape, and was gone when we looked back. It hovered for a moment though, but was to big to be a helicopter. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) It was an evening PM sighting. Sorry about that. ((END ADDENDUM))

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #138991). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
