The report, as filed
Low in the southern horizon, just about the roof line, I saw a light go across the sky and turn off. The light had to have been going fast to make the distance in the very short time line. It turned off as soon as I noticed it, but kept doing in a western direction. We spoke via telephone with the witness, principally to confirm the date of his sighting, and he seemed to us to be quite sincere, and sober-minded. We suspect that he is a highly reliable witness. I would describe it as larger than an airplane, very quiet, 3 bright lights at triangle points, very dark exterior, no colorful lights. Flew low and slow.

As we were walking around 10:00 pm, the night of the 9th, we both saw a huge, bright flash of light in the sky, looking in the north direction. The sky was clear that night (could see a few stars already... It wasn't a beam; it didn't travel or hover. Just a quick bright flash of light. Like something in the sky had taken a picture of us (example just to give an idea of duration and type of light).
