Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

Montana City, MT

At 8:00 pm under full sun, a friend and I had just returned to our pickup, and happened to hear a plane overhead. When we looked up, we noticed the plane, but also noticed a silvery round object that appeared to be stationary. We watched the object for nearly an hour, with a fair wind, clouds passed under it and three aircraft flew passed it, but it didn't move. Somehow it was geosynchronous. After exhausting our SkyView and GoogleSky apps we determined it wasn't something that showed up on either. We drove north about four miles to a friend's house and borrowed their spotting scope. The object was still in full view; under a 45X view the object appeared shimmering silver and almost translucent, a spiral pattern of ribs was clearly visible on the bottom of the object. One individual reported clearly seeing blinking lights in fixed position on the lower portion of the object. Five of us watched the object through the scope until about 10:00pm when it started to! fade with the dimming light. The individual looking at the object at the time reported that, while he had a clear view of it, it vanished right before his eyes. We watched the sky further, as stars began to finally peak out, but where unable to relocate the object.
