Fireball over Santa rosa, CA
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
It moved really slow any frist I thought it was that bag you light and floats in the sky. Then I was, like no way, it started picking up speed and was gon fast then any aircraft I seen. It was just floating like it was checking us out. One of the people I was with thought it was a shooting star I was like know way it's floating marking no sound, I recorded it and you you tell we never seen my thing like this ever. I set out every night staring at the stars I live next to a airport it was no such thing. Kinda of creepy. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. We have no means of contacting him/her. No date was provided by source, so we have assigned an arbitrary date, which is our best guess of the date. PD
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #135279). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
