As reported

Circle over St. Augustine Beach, FL

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Approximately 9:30 pm on July 7, 2017, myself and two friends witnessed several orange glowing objects in the sky, headed from south to north, originating from south of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, unsure of the distance. Most of the objects appeared to be rising from the first sighting with a couple of them getting higher in altitude fairly quickly with others rising fairly slowly. All of the objects eventually disappeared from sight. We also observed several of the objects on July 5, 2017, but only about five and did not seem to last as long in duration as the ones we saw on July 7, 2017. The sighting on July 7, 2017 showed approximately 12 total objects. We have video but it is not very clear. And by the way, it was a full moon and a couple of them flew across the sky in front of the moon. All observers of this phenom are 56 to 66 years of age and have had or currently have professional careers in transportation and education.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #135007). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
