Circle over Wallace, NC
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
Very bright solid circular white light in the sky brighter and closer than a star or an airplane in the clear night sky. Object didn't blink or flicker, and stayed at a slow speed with no sound. It traveled in a straight detection over but made a slight curve and went back in a straight detection. Object didn't have a tail to it and was only a solid bright light.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #130744). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

The craft was extremely shiny and looked as to be a diamond shape. It would turn slightly and within a second or two it would disapper and there were very few clouds around it. It has been. Seen about the same time and location quite a few times.
