Egg over Downy, CA
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
Flying north to south at a altitude of a commercial plane. White egg shaped object originally thought a shooting star until I realized there was no glow around the object, figured a bird but how high it was and the speed couldn't have been a bird. To my best knowledge the speed had to have been of a fighter jet or faster but i heard no sounds what so ever. I saw it for about 10 secs until it disappeared into the dark sky. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #130162). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
