Fireball over Varnell, GA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

We were driving down a country road on a clear night when we noticed 7 bright orange lights flying in the same direction (slightly northwest) at the same speed (moving quickly). The one in the front suddenly disappeared and then the next in line would disappear when it reached the location of the first to disappear. We pulled over in a church parking lot to watch with another vehicle that did the same. We continued to drive and saw 8 more heading in the same direction before the trees obstructed our view.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #129738). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
