Formation over Small Point, ME

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

One red light like a fireball appeared out of nowhere. It kept getting bigger and moved rapidly around a small area in a triangle shaped pattern. Out of nowhere, 5 smaller red orbs shot out (one by one) around the bigger red fireball. They all moved around staying in the same pattern, then after that 3 of them shot over the town of Portland and dropped to the ground at lightning speed. The other 3 (big fireball and other two smaller ones) disappeared. Then the three that shot down to Portland slowly came back up into the sky and vanished into thin air. That big red fireball turned into a silver light that slowly crept across the sky until it disappeared over the tree-lines. I have photographic proof of the red fireballs and silver light.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #134220). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
