Triangle over Saint Simons Island, GA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

One very bright orange triangle with an exhaust-trail that looked like a small flame flew across the sky: the triangle appeared about half the size of a dime held at arm's length. The vehicle was flying without sound from East-South-East to North-North-West. About 5 seconds later an identical vehicle followed the first on the same flight path, and they flew across half the sky in 10 seconds, before a building obscured them. The triangles were as bright as a flashlight, which is what made me look up to the sky to see them. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Date error on prior report: please correct year to 2016 (not 2017). ((END ADDENDUM)) Date above has been corrected. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #129358). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
