Fireball over Gray, TN

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

As we came to a four way stop it was way more clear as to what we were seeing. It was a round softball size fire ball. Almost as if whatever it was may have operated the same way a hot air balloon does. It was over the car and hoovered keeping up to speed with us. As we stopped at the stop sign it stopped as well. It was maybe 5 ft higher than the power lines.it was still as we watched it for maybe 30 seconds over the car before flying straight up...very high. I watched it until it was so far up, it was umseeable.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #128537). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
