As reported

Unknown over Chesterville, ME

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I saw a big bright object that was circular shaped. It flashed very bright lights of white, red and blue. It was stationary. Before I seen it, I heard 4 weird booms, 10 minutes later I go to let my cats in and out of the corner of my eye I saw the white, red, and blue flashing lights. I thought that maybe it was a planet but it looked too big to be a planet, and it had very distinct flashes of blue and red. I kept an eye on it for 2 hours. From 20:00 to 22:00. At 23:00 it was gone. At 00:00 while hiding easter eggs I looked out again and saw the red, white and blue lights again but it was now moving about the speed of a plane. It almost looked like the the lights were circulating around the rim of the craft as if possibly, it was a saucer. I had my bf come look. He said it was a plane but as we watched, it slowed down to a stop for about 30 seconds hovering slightly left to right and then slowly started to move at plane speed again.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #126563). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
