The report, as filed
I first noticed the formation when I was at a red light heading north bound on West Bernardo Dr about to turn left (or West) on Rancho Bernardo Road. Their were about 10 or 15 objects in the sky in a formation. The objects seemed to be rotating in spiral fashion, and at first I thought they were a group of sky divers, but then I realized that they weren’t actually falling. As they swirled around they would change from bright white to almost invisible to a dark color then back to invisible then back to white. This cycle made me think that maybe it was a group of birds that were white on the top and dark underneath. I thought maybe as they were flying in circles the whites of their back were being reflected by the sun then the dark of the birds bellies were making them look black. Some of the objects would come close together and some would separate from the group as a whole. After about 15 min they slowly dispersed to the east and gradually disappeared.

My son and I just finished swimming in the pool in Rancho Bernardo California. We dried off and we’re laying in the lounge chairs and notice two cylinders in the sky fairly close to each other and appeared to be circling each other. We videotaped for a few minutes a plane passed over them. We then noticed a third cylinder arrived and caught up to the other two then made a perfect triangle in the sky. They broke formation and went out of site shortly after that.

I was looking outside my window and noticed a strange black sphere, about the size of a soccer ball, with colorful flashing lights raise up from behind a house and slowly ascend into the sky and disappear. There was one light on it that flashed like a strobe light and changed colors from blue to green to red to pink and all over again. At first I thought the object was a remote control helicopter, but looking closely it seemed just a fuzzy black sphere with the flashing light. The object rose upwards and seemed to be affected by the wind (heading to the west). By then it had raised to at least 500 feet or so. There is a law about no UAVs higher than 400 feet in my area. I looked away for a second and the object disappeared. The incident occurred in broad daylight at around 11:00 am.. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

I woke to get a snack and smoke a cigarette. Sitting on my patio I started hearing what sounded like a high pitch winding of a motor or machine. Kind of like the sound a car makes with a loose belt but deeper and much louder. I lit my cigarette not thinking much of it. It started to get a bit louder and kept going not like a passing car with a loose belt. It seemed to fill the whole sky. I got up and peered above my patio and realize the sound was right above me in the sky. At that point it had a vibrato to it. It was very strange and very different. It vibrated in my ears like the sound a crystal glass makes when you run a finger around its wet rim. I went inside and went to my boyfriend to ask him if he heard it. You couldnt hear from inside. Wasn't loud enough. Then it just stopped.
