Unspecified over Seatac, WA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I was walking down the side of the hill on the public park side of Angle Lake, at about 23:35. There was fairly heavy rainfall and low clouds. I was partway down the hill when there was a very bright flash of light above me. Several things made this very distinct, it was within the clouds shining outwards (so from my angle downwards) which made it obvious that it wasn't generated from the ground around me. The intensity made me think of lightning, except it was completely silent. And it was a vibrant electric blue in color, so distinct in hue that I almost fell over as I was shocked (I was completely sober). It happened once more after about 1 1/2 minutes at which point I found myself wanting to leave the area quickly (which is fairly out of character). I asked several locals about airport lights or static discharges in the area to which all responded in the negative, and were slightly puzzled by the question.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #125805). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

That being said, It was around 2:30 am, the skies were clear at the time. I was looking upwardly West/Northwest at the "Big Dipper" as I do every night. Out of nowhere, what appeared to be one of the many stars in the sky suddenly and silently got extremely bright, brighter than anything in the night sky, then dimmed very quickly until it dissapeared. Earlier in the evening, while again looking at the Big Dipper (towards the east), I saw what looked like a star suddenly start moving to the west then abruptly change direction to the south. It appeared to be moving extremely fast until I could no longer see it. I don't think these two separate sightings in the same night, around the same constellation, seemed like they were coincidental. This marks the third time I've seen something unexplained and unidentified. The first time was witnessed by my wife, kids and myself, was more eventful and lasted much longer but that's another story. Keep looking up! Seatac, WA

The UFO flew so high it was hard to see. It was fast and zigged, looking asterisk-like. It may have searched for signal source.
