The report, as filed
I was facing the horizon above the freeway connecting Garfield to Hatch from a hill in Salem. The sky was clear but very dark, when gigantic squares (probably 4 to a row) lit up very bright yellow or white light and formed two rows. I have never seen anything this large in this sky in my life. The lights lasted about 5 minutes, and then faded out. It was too obscured to see what shape they were when the lights went out, but you could see that the object was still in the sky. Also, when the lights went dark you could see a helicopter with dim lights fleeing from the object at great speed. (( We have requested more, and more detailed, information from the witness. We will include it here, if and when it arrives.
