Flash over East Los Angeles (Boyle Heights), CA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Loud drone like buzzing motor sound, hovering low, engulfing the whole neighborhood of Hunter street & Lorena, Avenue with a super bright flash of light that simultaneously "turned on and off" every television and any plugged in electronics at all homes in the vicinity for about 3 to 5 seconds, waking and startling all neighbors who all came out in awe.. wondering what it could've been... o.O. We have changed the time of the alleged event, to reflect an event at 5 p.m., not a.m., as the source indicated. Possible hoax. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous, and provides no contact information. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #124632). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
