Rectangle over Southold, NY
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
At the Peconic Dog Park with dogs when I saw a metallic brown object the size and configuration of a brownstone building slowly moving north over the trees from the Hamptons. Flew under aircraft flight paths. Slowly advanced silently, I tried to get others to see it but they "couldn't". I watched as a red dome light went on and it turned left (or east) and slowly continued until it was gone. There have been previous times when I have seen pale white oblong objects traveling west very fast in flight paths. These have been observed with me at least once with two other people. All of these sightings took place at the Peconic Dog Park in Southold New York.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #144326). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

I was lying in bed, looking out the window (although I was NOT half-asleep) when I saw a bright blue light (much brighter than a plane) flash twice, then disappear, then reappear and flash another two times, and then it left my field of view. It was moving fast, much faster than a plane. My guess is it would traverse the entire sky in 10 or so seconds. I would think it was a meteor, but meteors don't flash multiple times at the same brightness, and I would think it was something like the ISS but the ISS was not visible from my location at the time. Maybe some sort of secret SpaceX launch? Anyway, I'm not super sure this was an alien craft, I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone in the area saw something similar.
