The report, as filed

At 20:17 Local what appeared to be a formation was approaching from the ocean at a few hundred feet. As the formation crossed land it rose in a 1 mile distance through the cloud deck at approximately 1500 feet and rapidly departed the area on a WNW track heading in the general direction of Buxton/Gorham.

Old Orchard Beach, ME

I was in the passenger seat while my boyfriend was driving, and I looked up in the sky and saw what looked to be a helicopter or airplane chasing an oval shaped craft that was traveling east, exceptionally fast. It was going too fast for me to be able to tell what it was, but it was definitely being chased by a normal looking helicopter or airplane shaped craft. I have photos, but they are taken from quite a distance obviously.

Old Orchard Beach, ME

Saw a yellowish, irregularly shaped craft of some kind in the north sky. Standing on the beach at Old Orchard Beach, I watched the craft move slowly southward for 2 minutes or more. I got out my IPhone and zoomed in on the yellowish craft and tried to focus on it. I suddenly saw a disc shaped object in its place with lights spaced intermittently around its perimeter. I fumbled to push the photo button and by the time I got ready, the disc suddenly disappeared. First time I have ever had this kind of inexplicable observance. I have not stopped thinking about it.

Old Orchard Beach, ME

Suddenly the craft changed directions, dropping lower, then went sideways for a spell, then it came to a complete stop. When it moved again, it went up, and appeared to kind of bounce slowly as rose, then started moving sideways, back towards the fireworks. As the show ended, rather abruptly, without the usual "grand finally (sic. finale), the craft veered North, until it was right above me. I could see that it was round, surrounded by red lights. It then changed directions again, back towards the beach, slowly. It was over the water when it suddenly dropped, VERY QUICKLY, and then vanished into thin air. This is not the first time I've seen unexplained flying objects over the water but it's the closest, and longest, I've seen one. There is nothing else it could be other than a UFO because nothing moves through the sky (and disappears) like that. It was crazy. Freaked my kids right out.
