The report, as filed
While delivering a boat from Santa Barbara to San Francisco, approximately 15 miles from shore, just passed point conception, I noticed in the direction of Pismo a large red fireball looking event that rose from what looked like the ground upwards with a tail that illuminated the clouds below it. The "fireball" seemed to be spherical in shape with "clean" round edges. It then disappeared. Interesting it looks like there have been similar sightings in the general area in the past. What could this have been? Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD
