Triangle over Mechanicsburg (near), PA
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
I was riding passenger while my girlfriend was driving North on I-81, around Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg (Near Exit 57). I saw what appeared to be a falling star, but when I noticed it, it stopped IMMEDIATELY. I mean, on a dime. It then swooped over the car, and went from an altitude of about 20 ft to 200 ft or so, and then zipped up into the night sky. I couldn't find it after looking again. August 12-13th, 2015. Around midnight, but before 12:30.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #121284). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
