Fireball over Kansas, KS
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
My friend and I were watching fireworks on the 4th. I was looking south and spotted 2 red/orange dots in the sky. I was excited to share with my friend what I was looking at. I asked him if he would look south at the red/orange dots, and he stated to me the dots are close together and moving towards the North, amount of time watching 1-2 minutes. We were trying to take picture/video and then suddenly dots disappeared. I was very excited to share with friends and family, our July 4, 2015, evening.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #120255). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
